Pets welcome Monki. Fresh from her superb Yurican Soul sojourn on Hot Creations, the London artist, DJ and broadcaster flips the switch once again and hits hard with two powerful 3am missives that tap into the deepest, most flavoursome corners of techno's primordial soup.

'Flipside' plays the consummate role of the juggernaut. Unrelenting in its charge, there's a thundering momentum that smacks of sunrise sessions from any Saturday morning from 91 onwards.

Sealing the deal with more late night / early morning timelessness, 'Whatchu Laughing At' fittingly flips the switch once again and takes a deeper but equally disarming approach. Nodding at the foundations dug by the likes of Black Strobe or Tiefschwarz, once again we're treated to another best kept secret in the darkest corner of Monki's armoury. Overplay, don't overlook.

Can you believe it? Fall of 2014 marks the 20TH ANNIVERSARY of YOSHITOSHI, the seminal record label founded by Deep Dish in 1994. To celebrate, we are bringing the classics back, remastered and with new remixes from an amazing group of heavy hitters from all corners of the dance world.

Given that Yoshitoshi’s roots are ingrained in house music, it’s only fitting to start the #YoshiClassics campaign with Eddie Amador’s “House Music”. A true Yoshitoshi classic released in 1998 that went on to become a global phenomena. The hypnotic rhythm and infectious “Not Everyone Understands House Music” has become the preach anthem for generations of dance music lovers.

August 8th sees Intec’s esteemed label co-heads Carl Cox and Jon Rundell both put their own unique spin on Josh Wink’s illustrious 2014 hit ‘Talking To You’, distributed via the aforementioned imprint.

This impressive two-track offering follows a whole host high quality 2016 Intec releases including the Beatport chart topping ‘Intec 100’, which last saw Carl and Jon team up to deliver a release well worthy of its billing. 

Carl Cox’s interpretation commences the release, boasting the original’s ‘I’m Talking To You’ vocal sample set to a driving Tech House rhythm with a looped-up manipulated chord riff and an abundance of squelchy acid bleeps. 

Jon Rundell’s re-work follows and ventures down more of a darker Techno route, utilising the original’s vocal sample and acidline but adding a pounding TR-909-laden groove, sinister sound effects and a clever arrangement.   

You can catch the Ovum Records label boss Josh Wink perform alongside Carl at his final ever season at Space Ibiza (every Tuesday until September 20th) on August 16th.  

‘Talking To You’ (Carl Cox & Jon Rundell Remixes) is available exclusively via Beatport from August 8th and everywhere else two weeks later.
