Unrilis is excited for the return of Mauro Somm on the Imprint with a four trackers EP called ‘Showtime’.

Based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Mauro Somm is an upcoming star of the international techno scene and already figures in the best-selling beatport artists in the peak time and driving techno scene. As he started 2 years ago, his music has been released on many respected labels such as Christian Smith's Tronic, IAMT, Zafer Atabey’s Extima and many more. His work is supported by artists such as UMEK, Space 92, Christian Smith, Gallya, Sam Wolfe just to name a few.
Mauro Somm: “basically what inspired me into making this whole EP is my wish that the whole Techno scene knows both my versatility and for my thirst for glory and party.”
“With Showtime my main idea was to have a track to start a really bombing uplifting set. I wanted it to have everything, some aggressive moments, danceable moments, melodic parts. I wanted to make a complete vibe into the track.”
“With Tokyo I wanted to bring the old groovy techno back but with a modern twist on the break and the second drop just to bring something different and fresh to the scene. So I recorded my own voice and made some post production to it in which I basically describe the intention behind the EP.”
“With Dream Reise I always wanted to have a vocalized track with a female voice, luckily with Lola Visentini this wish come true”.
"I first made the whole track with this festival-ish / big stage vibe, then I had this vocal idea in my head, the chant of the vocal so I wrote some sick ass lyrics for it, Lola interpreted the chant perfectly as I had it in my head."

Today we premiere a remix from one of the biggest DJs in the scene Nicole Moudaber, for the legendary Chris Liebing, due out on UK imprint MUTE tomorrow [August 26th].

Today we welcome a premiere from Nicole Moudaber, as the world travelled international superstar takes time from her hectic touring schedule to step up for remixes duties for another legendary DJ and producer, Chris `Liebing.

Chris Liebing is a well established DJ, producer and the driving force behind the labels CLR and Spinclub Recordings. His sound has continuously evolved during his career, but he has always remained true to his techno roots. 

Moudaber gives Liebing's original broken beat track a 10 minute makeover, offering her signature big room techno sound. The original track has a lot to play with, including the standout vocal which is set against an evolving atmospheric backdrop that ebbs and flows, bringing the listener along a journey. 

From the get go, Moudaber starts the track with a pacy kick and hat combo, interlacing the vocal as the track broadens its range to include a synthy melodic build up, before stripping it back to the core elements. She gives the punk-ish tones of the vocal lots of room to breath before projecting it back into the pacy number from the beginning. This could easily work for the start of a set or likewise, pitched up to work for a key dance floor moment.

Truesoul regular Reset Robot has returned and yet again hasn’t disappointed with his incredible new EP. Three tracks meander between the hard drums and floating synths of ‘A Thousand Billion Photons’, to the more out and out techno sounds that can be heard within the song structures of ‘Bust’, before finally landing on ‘Wee Bridge’ where the musical scope shifts to a more afterhours feel using detuned horns and a rolling bass line.

Tiger Stripes follows up ‘Baby’ with a quintuplet of aces on Drumcode.

Death, taxes and Tiger Stripes crafting dancefloor weapons for Adam Beyer’s Drumcode and Truesoul labels. Not many things in life are certain, but we’ve always counted on Mikael Nordgren knocking it out of the park. Last year’s ‘Baby’ EP was a label highlight, while in March he released ‘Sneaking Hotdogs Into People’s Pocket’, which mined the spirit of ‘90s-drenched euphoria and was a standout on Truesoul. Now he’s back dropping heat on DC.

Taking the retro vibes of Hotdogs into more techno-orientated territory, he bunkered down with his family in the Swedish forest, setting up a makeshift studio in the kitchen. From this, the five-track ‘Into Desolation’ was born. Beginning with ‘Recluse’, it combines steely bass rumbles with old skool stabs and a heady vocal from Mikaela Rahmqvist. ‘Basshunter’ is propelled by galloping bass and a catchy undulating melodic loop and is brilliant in its effective simplicity. ‘Into The Early Night’ is a pearl, comprising deep compression-heavy bass stabs, perky percussion and a rousing vocal, making it a winner at festivals so far this summer, including Awakenings. ‘Ignition’ fires on all cylinders with a wicked arpeggiated hook and pounding drums. ‘Ride’ is a nostalgic nod to the past as trance-inspired chords marry deliciously with crunchy future-focused techno.

Carl Cox and Jon Rundells label Intec recently dropped the debut solo album from Dutch artist Roel Salemink and this is the second part of that release with new remix versions from The YellowHeads, Drumcomplex, Nakadia, Transcode and Patrik Berg.

The original version of the album was well received with DJ support from the likes of Pan-Pot, Laurent Garnier, Joseph Capriati, Pleasurekraft, plus many others, and this selection of reworks is even more dance floor focused.

The YellowHeads open the release with their remix of "Item Zero" where its dark energy and arpeggiated lead synth are on a par with the hard-hitting style of compelling techno that they have previously released on Suara, Kraftek and their own Reload Black Label.

Second is Drumcomplex who is a regular collaborator with Roel Salemink, but has also released solo tracks on the likes of Terminal M and OFF Recordings. With rattling percussion and explosive acid, Drumcomplex reworks "Machine Attendance" with added intensity.

Nakadia is the first lady of Thai techno, and she is back on Intec after making her label debut earlier in 2019 adding Intec to her back catalogue that also includes the likes of Filth on Acid and KD Music. Nakadia turns My Body Is My Temple into an acid storm with the ferocious energy she is famed for.

Fourth of the reworks comes from Transcode who is new on the Intec roster but joins the label following releases on a wide selection of other labels ranging from Respekt to Stil Vor Talent. Transcode turns Transforming into a stomping techno monster with dramatic bursts of texture that cut the shadowy atmosphere.

Patrik Berg has previously featured on Intec when working in collaboration with Matt Sassari, but this time he is back showing off his solo talents with a rework of Free, which brings some uplifting euphoria to the release, and ramps up the tension as it unfolds with devastating force.
