You smell that? That’s the smell of burnt rubber, cold rain, and broken promises. Welcome to the Mean Streets kid. 

You ever hear jungle breaks echoing through an empty parking garage at 3 a.m.? That’s what this is for. Mean Streets is built for late-night runs and lost causes. It's a drum and bass tribute to the golden age of the PlayStation, back when everything felt faster, dirtier, realer. Back when we were still counting polygons kid. 

Think Wipeout 2097, Ridge Racer, Need for Speed. This is the sound of busted-up jungle drum and bass straight from a memory card left in the rain.

Yeah, there's liquid DnB in here, even some future garage, the kind that creeps in when the streets are empty and the rain won’t stop and you can't get those damned memories outta your head. But don’t get it twisted kid, the heart of this record is that early-2000s jungle mayhem. The stuff that came out of blown speakers and off bootleg discs. That sound that made you drive too fast and care too little.

So here’s your induction, rookie. The Mean Streets don’t care who you are. But if you’re gonna race out here, you better have the right soundtrack. And now, you do.

This one's for fan's of low-poly dreams, 160 BPM mistakes, and the kind of nights you don't come back grom the same. If you like early jungle, Source Direct, LTJ Bukem and PS1-era Drum & Bass you're gonna like this.

Ahead of what will be a supreme cast of selectors heading down to Room Two for the FABRICLIVE leg of our 16th Birthday celebratory weekend, we’ve linked with one of the night’s pivotal participators, the ever prolific Logistics and asked him if he could lend us a hand fuelling the hype by putting together a brand new promo mix. The mix also marks his first ever contribution to our ongoing series which, when truth be told, is quite astonishing given the fact that not only has the upstanding selector played at our Farringdon corner numerous times but also that the illustrious Hospital Records signee has overwhelmed us with his distinct strain of liquid funk and cut for the club drum and bass for more than a decade now.

Familiar faces from the Spearhead crew Bcee, Commix and Dexcell head up the bill with a stellar special guest who is soon TBA. Founder of the long-standing Inperspective label, Chris Inperspective, also joins the Spearhead family alongside Becky Saif and DJ Dazee.

MCs Ruthless, Visionobi, Texas and Seige complete the showcase, each of whom will undoubtedly take things up a notch throughout the night.
