Retro Kid is back, with the first single from his debut album ’Nordic Noir’. ‘Nordic Noir’ shares electronic producer Jake Juba’s first hand experiences of nightlife as a “Copenhagener” . The album is laid out like an audible metro line and the first stop is ’Neon Colours’. Jake’s journey is shared with Danish vocalists Christiane and Christian, just to add a touch of authenticity to the concept.


‘Neon Colours’ is a song about Jake’s favourite smokey bodega / pub in Copenhagen called Cafe Malmö. A basement bar often filled with crazy characters and a cracking old duke box that blares out the likes of the doors and fleetwood mac. Unfortunately, times are changing and the old fruitful barflies have gone. What remains is the hipster youth preaching about how nostalgic they feel when listening to songs older than they are.

MALMØ’s new single ‘The Way (feat. Eivør)’ is out now.

Taken from the recently released debut album ‘We Come From The Stars’, the new single sees Danish 5-piece MALMØ teaming up with acclaimed Faroese singer-songwriter Eivør (Game of Thrones, God of War, The Last Kingdom) to share vocal duties with the band’s own Maria Malmoe. 

The video, choreographed by Laura Feline Ebbesen and filmed by Michelle Berg and Stinna Skrivergaard, reflects the tribal vibe of the track and Maria’s inspiration for writing it:

"The Way is about getting lost in the woods and finding your way through the wild. Ancient voices and tribal drums echo in the deep. You want to run and run without knowing where you’re headed. There it is, my ‘Way’, curvy and unknown but mine to follow. I leap off on the first step."

Hater tackle their personal experiences of life, love and relationships yet through their shared songwriting there's a togetherness. Synth pop earworm ‘It’s So Easy’ contrasts the slower paced 'I Wish I Gave You More Time Because I Love You' that blends beautiful sweeping sax from Inge Petersson Lindbäck. The haunting metronomic beat of ‘I Sure Want To’ calls to mind local residents Death And Vanilla, Hollywood glamour exudes on shimmering 'Things To Keep Up With' and 'Cut Me Loose' captures those long youthful days of summers gone by.. "Wouldn't it be fun? Noon is halfway and I feel gone".

Hater “boast Marr-esque guitars and vocals reminiscent of fellow Swedes The Concretes” (Norman Records) whilst having the pop sensibilities of The Chills, Alvvays, Snail Mail and Makthaverskan.
In early 2017 Hater released their debut album ‘You Tried’ blending jangle with grit, their recent EP ‘Red Blinders’ (Fire Records) soon followed in support of their first headline tour across Europe. Festivals in 2018 have already included SXSW, Eurosonic and Ment.

Hater release ‘Siesta’ on limited edition yellow opaque double LP, standard black vinyl and CD via Fire Records on 28th September.

Waiting Like A Wolf

Integrity Records was founded in 1994 in a small office in Bedford, England. After early releases from Cambridge indie-boys The Traceys, the label became notable for signing bands such as Miss Black America, Plutonik and Million Dead, whose vocalist Frank Turner went on to forge a successful solo career.

John Peel was a great supporter of the label and played the vast majority of their releases on his BBC Radio 1 show. In 2002, 5 Integrity releases (including B-sides) proudly appeared in Peel’s annual Festive Fifty.

In recent years, Integrity has also been the UK home for American artists such as ex-Babes In Toyland Kat Bjelland's Katastrophy Wife, Nashville-based duo Travis+Julie and former Low Anthem guitarist Daniel Lefkowitz's new band Futur Primitif, together with Australian all-girl scrunge-rock trio Valentiine and their Melbourne underground buddies Mannequin Death Squad; the most recent additions to the Integrity family being Danish dream-folkers MALMØ and Ida Wenøe, and Greenlander Simon Lynge.

The label's long-term ethos of discovering and supporting home-grown talent also remains strong, with album and EP releases from the likes of Pet Dog Storm, Miniature Dinosaurs, theLights, Horse Party, Silhouettes and Ghosts of Social Networks in their catalogue.
