BORN AND RASIED IN NYC STARTED MY MUSICAL JOURNEY AS DJ/SELECTOR NOW RESIDING IN NYC ONE OF THE BEST MIXER IN THE MUSIC WORLD

Known to the music world as Dquan, Damain Staple, who entered the world in the magnificent parish of Manchester, Jamaica, chose this name to pay deference to one of his musical icons.
 
His grandmother was his greatest influence. At the tender age of nine, she instilled in him his passion for music.  Dquan humbly credits her for allowing him to find and nurture his voice, and eventually enabled him to connect with his thoughts to produce quality music.
 
He gives thanks for having the experience of singing in church choirs, which motivated him to write his own lyrics. That same motivation has also guided him to become the recording artist and DJ that he is today. As a result of his drive, he has received astonishing reviews from fellow peers in the industry.
 
Some of his musical influences and sources of inspiration include: Bob Marley, Akon, Sanchez, Beres Hammond, Frankie Paul, and many others.  Dquan strives to maintain his own musical versatility and style, which can be heard on records like "Broken Heart"on which his sultry voice caters to the ladies; while on his hit “Weh Di Music Gone” he illustrates the harsh reality of the music industry. He states that some of his favorite singers are Ne-Yo, Frankie Paul, and Sanchez because they make music for the ladies and they influence him to sing songs that people can relate to.  Already, fans are mentioning what they like most about him are his unique and alluring voice, along with his entrancing persona.  The ladies also tend to enjoy his eyes and captivating smile.
 
Dquan, who grew up playing the drums and singing, truly believes he was born to create music.  He intends to refresh the reggae genre by bringing forth young, vibrant energy, and positivity.  The artist expressed that Vybz Kartel is presently one of the best reggae/dancehall artist and is an example of the type of artist needed to keep the reggae industry alive. Familiar with stage, he has performed alongside Lady Saw, Kappa, Nardo Ranks, Frankie Paul, and Nefatari, to name a few.
 
Personally, Dquan’s biggest accomplishment thus far, has been to take the step in becoming an independent artist.  In December 2015, Dquan’s Management officially announced the release of his Mixtape titled Hustle, compiled with 14 tracks which featured the titled track Hustle.  The mixtape also featured some of the most recent hits such as Dem Nuh Real and Angels Cry which have been enjoying heavy rotation on the airwaves and gaining traction in Jamaica, the Caribbean, and Europe.  The artist also enlist some of the industry’s up and coming artists, such as Dannil, Kappa, Laden, Mackey Solo, NYC’s popular DJ Rodney Rodney, and producers such as Biggs Production, Kheilstone, Godson’s Production, and Swizzle Team to capture and deliver his unique sound and versatility.
 
Dquan has also been on a promotional tour with Sizzla, performing in Jamaica and Trinidad, and will be on a promotional tour later in 2016 for his recently released mixtape, Hustle.  Most recently, he has tapped into his acting side and can be seen acting in Son's of Kingston, a multi part gangster drama short film produced and directed by Hypelife Tv's own Jermaine "Miami"Johnson.  Three parts of the film have already been released and the fourth is due to be release on March 7, 2016, where Dquan can be seen as the character Stunts.
His future goal is to release his own major hit as well as collaborating with major artists and pursue some acting.  In the long term, he would like to develop his own label, signing new artists, all while continuing to sing and make music for the world.
 
Dquan, who wants his music to be inspiring to all, suggests that all upcoming artists continue to "stay focused, never give up, because you never know when your big break will come."
 
There are strong messages that are evoked in Dquan's songs. There’s compassion, respect, truth, and still that rawness that can intrigue any individual.
