Here is a new modular noise improv, created by Jason Amm (Solvent) on his Eurorack system. Watch your speakers - this often loud and ugly. Note - the "storm" begins just after the six minute mark.

Cylonix Cyclebox digital VCO module module (0101 mode) provides the rhythm and modulates (via the Cyclebox's Lag Out) the LPF & HPF of a WMD Micro Hadron Controller dual VCF module. The Cyclebox audio is going through the WMD filter. An LFO modulates the Mix-CV on the WMD, alternating between the LPF & HPF channels. Delay is from a Pittsburgh Analog Delay module through one channel of Intellijel Corgasmastron dual VCF module in HPF mode. A drone is introduced - a Pittsburgh Generator dual VCO module through Intellijel uFold wavefolder module - also fed through the WMD filter. The Generator is modulated by a Livewire Dalek Modulator module. The three elements (Cyclebox rhythm, Pittsburgh delay, Generator/uFold drone) are faded in and out manually via various mixer and attenuator modules.

So, essentially it's just the 2 sides of a Korgie used as oscillators FMing each other and ring modding each other at the same time. I just tweaked the filter frequencies, FM amount on each channel, and the Fold Symmetry of µFold. I also played around with the Q Drive on the Korgie. I found that after 12 o'clock the mix going through the µFold was not my cup o' tea but through the ring mod it was very nice. 
This is such a minimal setup. I could make samples/loops etc on this for hours!!
Sorry about the kick in there but I was recording in real time and liked having it there as I was also testing my RCD/Shortbus combo and was trying to hear cool variations and such. Also a little reverb and compressor to keep things under control.

Machinedrum into Intellijel uMod four quadrant multiplier (aka ring modulator). X input is MD, Y input is a VCO. VCO is exp frequency modulated by a LFO, envelope follower and step sequencer. Modulation sources are varied through the demo. Controls on the uMod such as wave rectification are varied in the demo - see timed comments.
