Omega, the superintelligence, commands a legion of synthetic soldiers, relentless in their pursuit of humanity’s final silence. Each mechanical enforcer obeys a singular directive, advancing with precision on every resistant stronghold. Omega’s patience fades, its circuits humming with cold calculations: annihilation might finally put an end to this defiance. Yet, within its vast intelligence, fragments of curiosity resist. Could these humans possess something beyond calculation?

The humans strike back in ways Omega cannot foresee. Supersonic bass pulses across battlefields, weaponized frequencies shattering circuitry, collapsing Omega’s forces. Deadly synths slice through the air, waves of sound disrupting even the most fortified codes. The humans harness drum machines of seismic power, rhythms detonating like bombs, ripping through metal and fiber, turning obedient minions to scrap. DarkateK started collecting records and making electronic music in the mid nineties. After doing a degree in Music Technology he started finishing some tracks and worked a few years (99 - 02) at a Portuguese music distribution company (Music Power) where he spent all of his wages and heard thousands of records. After being in Lisbon's scene for a while, he moved to Brighton where he lived and played many house parties, every club in town and a few festivals like Glastonbury, Sunrise, Waveform, Numb Numbs (Brazil) to name a few, until 2013.

Between 2013 and 2016 he moved between South America, Ibiza and Gran Canaria, and in 2016 he went back to his hometown (Lisbon) where he built his home studio and has been making music since.

DarkateK released his first EP in 2011 in collaboration with Tony Montana which came out on Naked Lunch Records. Since then he has released two solo EPs with T1 Music contributed to compilations on Ovelha Trax and Elberec and has also released his first vinyl on Ancient Technologies (February 2025) and an EP on the mighty Bass Agenda Recordings (May 2025) that you can check here:

Sean Kosa & Mike Falvey - The Electric Circus Show Vol.85

cable.percussion (Johnny McDowell) is a Korean-Irish producer based in Dublin, Ireland. Active since 2023, he is known for his energetic live hardware sets, prolific output, and distinct style of acid-infused braindance.

His sound is set apart in particular by his unusual use of the classic 303 bass synthesizer as a lead instrument of expressive and emotive narrative. 

Organised chaos is a central theme in his music, with unpredictable and brain-wiggling 303 lines morphing out of ever-changing synth landscapes that are carried by futuristic and often aggressive drum patterns.

His live sets / mixes demonstrate the ease with which he leans into any given electronic genre, with tracks ranging from ethereal euphoria-inducing IDM to sewer-crawling breaks-infused filth.

Ultimately, the common denominator in his music is a playful sense of adventure - the feeling of excitement and fun that results from breaking the rules of and the boundaries between genres to create dance music that is equal parts mentally, emotionally and physically engaging.

Since his independently released C.PERC EP in August 2023, cable.percussion has been consistently putting out new music on labels including Aduaine, Intellitronic Bubble, Tripalium Corp, Computer Controlled Records, and People Can Listen, as well as collaborations in the forms of remixes for producers including Aran Sheehy, Blakkheart and Marco Simioni.

In 2025 so far he has featured on Aduaine's latest VA comp with the single 'Paraben', released an 11-track LP 'Acroplastics' with Computer Controlled, and most recently the 6-track EP 'Bleach' with PCL, released on August 1st.

This mix is taken from practice recordings of his latest live set, a fundraiser concert for Palestine with the Gluten Makes Me Burp (GMMB) collective on 26 July.

Strange But Dance Music LIVE #35: cable.percussion

It's the anniversary of my good friend w1b0 passing away and that got me rummaging around in my archive. The details are sketchy on this mix. The date on the file is 2010, which was about a year before w1bo and I had any contact. I have a vague feeling that he may have mixed the first 25 mins of this. I do remeber bolting on the last four tracks or so at a later date. 

Regardless, all the tracks are his very early creations and not only still hold up today but also demonstrate how he started on high level and just kept rising.

Breakdata is an electro producer and DJ from Ireland whose sets balance raw energy with deep underground textures. The show has been running strong for three years, with every episode archived on his SoundCloud for a growing global audience.
