IUFO PODCAST EPISODE 02 - SOLARIA by JAFADAN

Welcome to Episode 239 on Poisonoise Music with this set coming in from Spanish based artist Emesh. 
Emesh led by Antonio Muñoz is a master of creative music production across electronic, ambient, slow trance, dub and IDM genres. He comes from the beautiful region of La Alcarria in Spain. Since 2013 on Sendero Records, he has been delivering a quite diverse range of sound to the listener, sometimes danceable, sometimes calming, more metallic, more organic, and always inspiring. Antonio is both, a musician and therapist. His musical influences owe much to the pop and electronics of the 80s when he started working as resident Dj at Deadly club in Brihuega (Guadalajara-Spain) about 9 years. From there he went to Madrid to do Dj sets with his aka Dujay in various popular nightspots of the capital like the Circulo de Bellas Artes, Mondo and Maxime between others, in addition in the early 2000s he is the founder of the underground parties Darkbeat, programming deep trance and progressive house, pioneers in the city. Working with these sounds allowed him to warm up James Holden the first time he visited Spain in 2003. Evolving his skills, he delved into music production, mastering various instruments and exploring sound therapy rooted in shamanic practices. Antonio gives regular sound therapy sessions and concerts using his Tibetan Singing Bowls, Shamanic Drum and other ancient instruments. His talent has been recognized on a global stage, with his track featured at the London Music Conference in 2020 playing a set at fabric@london. This global recognition is a testament to his skill and creativity. Currently, he's immersed in his studio, Elul, recently completing an indie electronic EP with Miss Zagato, and recent releases on Piranha Siberia Dub, Blue Lotus and Something Spæcial label. During the Soviet era, art often had to align with propaganda, seemingly fostering a symbiotic relationship between the state and its people. Consequently, in the realm of “Social Realism,” most forms of artistic experimentation were strongly discouraged and even punishable. With few exceptions, 20th-century Georgian classical/chamber music remained quite conservative; however, when faced with dysfunctional cultural phenomena, there will always be gaps in societal walls through which oppressed cultures can carry their historical heritage and unique paradigms.


In 2018, Glonti started collecting LPs of Soviet-era Georgian composers at Tbilisi’s “Dry Bridge” flea market.The records mostly consisted of classical and chamber music released on Melodiya, the singular, state owned record label of the USSR. It was through this process that the idea of Recollection was born, as Glonti aimed to create an album that would utilize samples from his growing collection.


Recollection I-II will be the first release in a series of 7’’ records, followed by three more releases. The artwork by Dmytro Nikolaienko of Day Night reflects the generic qualities of Soviet-era cover art.

This is the opening DJ set recorded live at Volnost on December 14, 2024.

It was carefully designed to evoke a profound sense of progression by seamlessly blending elements of IDM, techno, and drum and bass.

By harmonizing the core characteristics of each genre, it creates a distinctive and immersive soundscape.

Particular attention was given to the role of an opening set, crafting gradual tension and drawing the audience into an engaging experience.

The goal was not just to deliver a cohesive musical flow, but to offer a sensory and narrative journey that set the tone for the event.

Established in 2017, the Intergalactic Research Institute for Sound has been an outlet for artistic and experimental endeavors that go beyond electronic music.
Evocative soundscapes from Georgia were the first communication from the Institute. It has since released music from Ukrainian artist Stanislav Tolkachev, acclaimed duo Air Liquide, or Georgian producer Michailo.
Michailo notably worked on his EP in prison, sending files to the label through intermediaries. He was released early, shortly after his record came out.
These days, it is also the home of STAUB’s unknown artists and of the cello robots that keep company with Schloss Mirabell.
With its blurring aesthetics, the Institute travels from clubs to museums and always pushes its exploration further.
