We are honored to share Japanese dance music icon @hideo-kobayashi twist on @kathleen-hollingsworth’s jazz classic ‘Here’s to Life’. A prolific and versatile producer with 30 years of releases under his belt, Hideo’s rendition dials up the energy while retaining the soulful passion of the original.

HIDEO KOBAYASHI
Born and based in Nagano, Japan, Hideo Kobayashi is one of the country’s most prolific electronic music producers, DJs, and performers, renowned for his versatile blend of house, techno, deep house, ambient, and beyond.

Inspired by pioneers like Yellow Magic Orchestra and Kraftwerk, he began producing in the 1990s and went on to collaborate with luminaries such as Jerome Sydenham, forming Nagano Kitchen, and DJ Said. His music, supported by the likes of François K., Tiësto, Paul Van Dyk, Richie Hawtin, Laurent Garnier, and Hernan Cattaneo, has been featured on top labels such as Ministry of Sound, Defected, Chez Music, Renaissance and Drumcode - including a number of chart-topping releases.

Beyond production, Kobayashi is an internationally touring DJ, performing at leading clubs and festivals worldwide. Constantly evolving, he has launched projects ranging from his deep house imprint Fuente Music to his ambient label Standard Music, as well as his NEURON party at WOMB in Tokyo, while also composing under his aliases Positive Wizard, H.I.D., and his techno project with Osamu M, Kindarta. His wide-ranging output, from floor-filling anthems to ambient soundscapes, cements Hideo as a boundary-pushing “electronic samurai” shaping the global dance music landscape.
