You might find that the piano playing at the beginning seems a little out of tune - that’s because I’m
not using the standard western scale known as equal temperament. I’ve actually tuned the piano in
line with the alp horn, the national musical instrument of Switzerland. It’s a really long (like, several
metre-long) horn with no holes in the sides so it actually plays in a natural harmonic overtone series,
so I think it gives the piano a beautiful clear resonance as well as (to western ears) a sort of gentle
wooziness. The rhythmic elements of the track are inspired pretty much directly by the original, just
translated into a quicker tempo with some added sound design. I’m really interested to hear what

people think!

Released via his @naffrecordings imprint, the album showcased a more contemplative style to his productions and featured one collaborative track with label partner Ex-Terrestrial. The story continues as Priori enlists a heavyweight line-up of artists to rework some of the album’s standout tracks.

Stenny - Kembow

Matching supple muscle with brainy brawn, fast-rising Edinburgh producer @lws_trax comes bowling onto the PM+ series with a pair of widescreen heaters. As is now well established and expected for Peder Mannerfelt’s quick-fire offshoot of club-ready cuts, these pieces are forged outside obvious genre categorization, where it’s easier to talk in terms of sound and energy than style.
 
‘Pendrum’ is a long and ranging track which revels in knotty rhythmic intricacy, driven by a drum palette which sounds like it was sourced from those odd things you find in miscellaneous kitchen drawers. The space-age pads take these items and fling them towards the horizon, and we’re dutifully dragged along for the ride. It’s a true journey piece – a saga for the club loaded with dramatic peaks and troughs.
 
‘Now That’s Focus!’ similarly looks beyond obvious drum machines for its percussive hits, but this time it’s purely about the beat. LWS proves himself to be devilishly effective at setting a scene with not much more than a biscuit tin and a dripping tap at his disposal, strapping the crinkling of a crisp packet to a rugged kick and slowly letting the gas escape from his bottle of sparkling when the track shifts into a higher gear.

ETRA, aka Nathan Rush, a diverse bass and breaks producer from the West Midlands, UK Began his production journey in 2014 as a means of escapism whilst living in a youth hostel. Sertraline Dreams is a testament to the boundless innovation within the electronic music scene, reflecting his versatile style and emphasis on creativity. With a fusion of breakbeats, garage, and drum and bass, this EP pushes the boundaries of what's possible in electronic music, while paying homage to the rich history of these genres.

He blesses us with a three piece masterclass in footwork. He kicks things off with his tune “RoyEldridge”, a funky track that quickly turns into a vibey blend of guitar strums, horns, warm keys, and banging drums. Like good weed that sneaks up on you, this track puts you in a trance and takes you on a journey into a warmer place. The horns pull you back to earth and guide you back to your senses. The next track “Cyclone” is a footwork oriented banger with moody jazz riffs. This track is a blend of frantic footwork patterns over tranquil chords and a snare that just keeps trudging along. This track is for those who are tired but can’t stop yet. Keep on trucking yo! We closed this ep with an update of “ItrustWecan”. The original version of this tune was a staple for footwork DJ’s a decade ago. Juke Ellington gave this classic a facelift and new cheeks with his silky smooth production. This release showcases Juke Ellington’s love for the 160 styles. Offering your brain a massage of feel good vibrations.

Always seen with a smile on his face; Inja the poet, lyricist, storyteller and unparalleled master of ceremonies presents his debut album on Hospital Records. His first drum & bass focussed long-player ‘Blank Pages’ flexes his lyrical style with heartfelt sentiment, roughneck flows and quick-fire wordsmith wizardry. All partnered with heavyweight productions from Pete Cannon, Nu:Tone, Logistics, Serum, Whiney and Anile.

Inja’s back with partner-in-crime Pete Cannon on ‘War Games’. A funky bassline lays the foundations for this fear-fighting tale. As the breaks roll out Inja’s militant and deep rhetoric puts this track on a new level, with signature percussive flair from the sought after hip-hop beatmaker.

Inja’s spoken-word piece for Amnesty International ‘She Just Wanna Dance’ was a viral online hit in 2017. It’s now been given a turbo-charged re-work by Med School young-gun Whiney. Inja’s poignant commentary on the prolific problem of harassment in club culture sits atop a grimey half-time stepper that switches up into a lethal upfront roller.

Inja proves he can ‘juk’ any riddim in ‘Samurai’. Serum’s steppy beat and woofing bassline balances Inja’s story of the samurai; slicing through the tune like the lyrical sensei he is.
