In late 2020, in the midst of lock downs and worldwide uncertainty, London based visual artist Weirdcore presented his first solo exhibition, ‘Orient Flux’, at SKP-S in Beijing, supported by Kennedy London. Developed and produced remotely due to travel restrictions, the exhibition spanned 7 interconnecting audio-visual installations forming a ‘train station from the future’, with music and sound design by 33EMYBW and Gooooose. Initially arriving at the ‘Stellar Lounge’, passengers traversed through the ‘Oblique’ security checks, decompress and adjust their bodies for travel in the ‘Microcosmic’ zone, and pass through the ‘Infinity Gates’ and ‘Dimensional Horizon’ to finally board the ‘Trans-Aeon Express’, an illusory bullet train, to embark on a spatio-temporal journey through time.

‘Trans-Aeon Express’ by 33EMYBW and Gooooose is a continuation of this project, with music and sound design from the exhibition, as well as new tracks inspired by and sampling elements/ambience from the various installations. Released on a limited-edition LP, as well as digitally, the album features new artwork by Weirdcore, updating and evolving the original Orient Flux emblem, with graphic design and layout by Luke Griffiths.

For EYX008 Early Reflex introduces Brooklyn (NY) based artist, producer and DJ Laenz debuting on the label with the eerie sonic world from her new EP ‘Undue Valence’.
Laenz has an approach to production that is closer to a surveyor of textures and oddities, processing observations informed by the complexities of evolving and eroding infrastructures as well as any corresponding personal entanglements.
Inspired by the physical and intangible infrastructure underlying within the experienceable world, the release results in a five-tracker where the American producer translates these patterns into an unprecedented kaleidoscopic sonic model.
The EP shakes the listeners from its beginning, kicking off with the hooking bass melody, the atmospherical pads and unpredictable drums of Being Into Nothingness.
A distant lamenting call signals the start of Suspire, characterised by clashing metalling percussions and an incessant downtempo drum programming.
Leopard Gate, anticipated by eerie pad sounds, blends together sweeping laser synthesisers, distorted vocals, a catchy guitar riff all over a head nodding beat.
The tension rises in Wetware, an explosive laboratory experiment of field recordings, broken glasses and a hypnotic rhythmic session.
Title-track Undue Valence, is an unconventional dance tool which brings together all the infrastructure elements into a formula akin to club music.

But always looking for new challenges, ETHR is also very interested in new rhythmic trends like juke and nu jungle. And as you can imagine, we couldn't resist sharing with you so much ingenuity concentrated in one EP!

Their forthcoming EP, ‘zozobra’ merges influences from wave, dubstep, and grime with organic percussion and ambient sound design.
