Assyouti (he/him) is an Egyptian DJ and producer born and raised in Cairo, a bustling city whose perpetual chaos and overwhelming noise pollution have been channeled into the artist’s unique music productions, developed around endless warping and manipulation of rhythmic and vocal samples. Now based in Berlin, Assyouti has been bringing his remarkable mutant bass music around local clubs as well as the most renowned festivals for the scene such as Uganda’s Nyege Nyege and Berlin’s CTM. After his debut EP "Shakhrama" (High Digital, 2022), and the follow-up “The Disintegration of Eric Omelette” (Shepard Tone, 2023), we’re beyond excited to present his next endeavor called “Kraken Sight”, releasing July 5th on our platform and marking our tenth outing so far.

Keeping up with Assyouti’s trademark feature of arranging broken rhythms, deranged percussions, and heavily distorted bass into articulated sound aggressions, the release is composed of five tracks sketched with a harsh industrial-infused sound palette, and refined through the surgical juxtaposition of tension, sudden release, and further sonic assault. Kraken Sight describes the descent into a dangerously dark ocean, inhabited by lurking creatures ready to swallow the listeners in the bottomless, obscure depth. Masterfully managing to convey an ever-present tension, Assyouti’s latest effort summons oppressive and abrasive soundscapes to lead to inescapable feelings of unease and discomfort, where light struggles to infiltrate and brighten the black, desolated abyss.

Godspeed is an eclectic six-track EP that explores various facets of global bass music, bringing an experimental, radical, post-club edge to French pop. Framboise’s sensual vocals and incisive flows merge with indus-tribal beats, blending influences from gqom to hardcore drums and IDM textures. 

The EP includes “DESPOTE/FROST,” a collaboration with Kenyan producer Slikback, and “CHAV,” featuring Franco-Chinese rapper LK de l'Hotel Moscou, based in London, featuring two remixes by Endgame and B E N N, the visionary heads of Precious Metals & Over My Body, two of the most cutting-edge labels in new club music scene today.

“DESPOTE/FROST” is a hybrid, experimental track that sits at the crossroads of French rap and apocalyptic post-club sounds. In this piece, SMT3X and Slikback draw on the energy of their origins (Iran, Italy, Kenya) to produce an abrupt, uncompromising sound. Their rhythms move between tribal and industrial, evoking artists like Kavari, Arca, and Amnesia Scanner.

SMT3X is a Paris-based duo: Framboise, an Italo-goth singer from the French Riviera, and Guiv, a nerdy Persian producer. Their sound is as fiery as the energy of Naples and as chaotic as the sprawling arteries of Tehran, weaving southern European and ghetto-gothic Middle Eastern influences into dark and seductive deconstructed club music. SMT3X enjoys pushing the boundaries of rap and French pop, combining sensual lyrics and grime flows with elements drawn from hardcore, IDM, and gqom to create something both brutal and caliente.

Vessels of Chaos is a musical tale - an ode to change and reconfiguration. Set in a crumbling lorescape, it explores primitive forms of collective organizations rooted in material reality and its associated imperfections.

It takes the form of a double EP, released on MONTAGE and Over My Body.

Both EPs explore different directions with similar structures. Seen as complementary, they explore the use of voice and organic noises as source material to craft hypnotizing soundscapes and cathartic rhythms. Infused with paleofuturist imagery, they imagine new forms of communities, beliefs, rituals and worships - cherishing communion, shifting perspectives and internal transformations as ways to situate ourselves in the emptiness of existence.

Celestial Tears blends shimmering textures with vast soundscapes, distilled with ethereal winds, heart-felt melodies, and astral cries - for a blisscore contemplation of serenity to be found in impermanence and infinity.

Mercurial Blood combines muddy subs with cavernous vocals, mutilated by fractured beats, rough textures and crystalline hits - for an abrasive harshclub exploration of friction as an integral part of dynamic change.

Vessels of Chaos marks Griigg's second solo release after Action Replay (TAR, 2018) and is to be taken as the direct continuation of Interbeings (Club Late Music, 2019).

It embodies the conclusion of a years-long change in his creative process for something much more raw and spontaneous, to lay new foundations for his lore and practice. As a convergence point between his previous works, it explores ways to be with the world by crafting abstract landscapes and immersive tales - seeking the sublime in chaos.

edna ( https://soundcloud.com/ednahaha ) uses deviant beats and dark and ecstatic textures to create a portal to other dimensions. Her music is like a zest of life, developed in weird, dynamic and sexy atmospheres, into which ectasis and joy appear like explosions. She explores the narrative potential of DJ sets, weaving in and out and around hard techno, breaks and tribe, choosing a direction rather than a stream. On the stage, she sculpts a weird and playful, generous black-eyed creature, often associating music with visuals, dance, and performance.

This new premiere is from a track from “Portails”, her first EP, announced for the beginning of 2025, after several single releases on compilations in 2023. As a rising DJ and producer from the queer scene of Marseille, edna’s talent is demonstrated well beyond, in European clubs and within multiple musical and scenic collaborations with artists from all over the world.

Portails, is about transcending boundaries, with each track serving as a portal to a distinct sound world populated by strange, otherworldly creatures. Musically, it navigates a landscape of cross-genre experimentation, demonstrating how a narrative can emerge through contrasting genres and sound textures. Each track taps into the same emotional core, using different sonic languages to express a unified journey.

In the hard hitting Camouflage, Claustinto’s haunting vocals, driven by a heavy bass, sharp textured artisanal FX, and a persistent nagging synth, explore the pressures of societal masking.

Claustinto created the lyrics and reworked the instrumental. Mixing and mastering took place in Submarine FM’s studio, in Blacieux, Ardèche.
