Gentrification exists since the end of 2008 when Jens Bargmann (git) and Michael Gückel (dr) founded the band in Berlin, Germany. The song writing began and a style mix between Death, Thrash, and Core elements was created.
In 2010 Lena Winkel joined the band, whose versatile voice brought the songs to a new level. End of 2010 Jens Bargman left the band and two new guitarists joined: Mark Hoffmann and Rick Zander. Then bassist Maik Höing completed the line up.
End of 2011 Gentrification recorded 5 songs for the EP "Part of the Process", which is available since June 2012.

Gentrification wurde Ende 2008 in Berlin gegründet. Die Besetzung bestand damals lediglich aus Gitarrist Jens Bargmann und Schlagzeuger Michael Gückel. Beide waren kürzlich nach Berlin gezogen, wo es zu dieser Zeit schon heftige Diskussionen um Gentrifizierung und deren Folgen gab. Unbeabsichtigt war man selbst Teil dieser Entwicklung und sich der positiven wie negativen Effekte bewusst. Aus Überlegungen hierzu entstand der Bandname Gentrification und das inhaltliche Konzept zur kritischen Aufarbeitung von sozialen und politischen Entwicklungen. Trotz anfangs wechselnder Mitstreiter an Bass und Gesang kam das Songwriting relativ schnell voran – ein Stilmix aus Death- und Thrash-Metal mit einzelnen Metalcore-Elementen prägt seit den ersten Stücken das Repertoire der Band. 2010 war für Gentrification ein Jahr der Erneuerung und der Festigung. Anfang des Jahres kam mit Lena Winkel eine neue Sängerin an Bord, die die Stücke seitdem mit ihrer vielseitigen Stimme bereichert und auch inhaltlich für frischen Input sorgt: Emanzipation, Gleichberechtigung sowie weitere gesellschaftliche Entwicklungen wurden in der Folge genauso thematisiert wie Cyberterrorismus, Kapitalismus- und Industrialisierungskritik sowie das Kernthema Gentrifizierung. Mitte des Jahres verließ Gründungsmitglied Jens Bargmann aus beruflichen Gründen die Band und sorgte für einen Wechsel an der Gitarrenfront. Ende 2010 war der Erneuerungsprozess dann abgeschlossen. Seitdem steht das feste und bis heute aktuelle Line-up mit Mark Hoffmann und Rick Zander an der Gitarre. Maik Höing am Bass, Lena Winkel am Gesang und Michael Gückel am Schlagzeug. Das Songwriting nahm dank der stabilen Besetzung weiter Fahrt auf, der musikalische Stil festigte und verfeinerte sich. Ende 2011 standen erste Aufnahmen für eine EP mit 5 Stücken an: „Part of the Process“ wurde aufwändig in Eigenregie produziert und ist seit Juni 2012 als CD und Download erhältlich. Das Cover-Artwork ist inhaltlich passend gestaltet: Es greift visuell den Gentrifizierungsprozess auf und drückt durch die kollagenartige Anmutung die Vielschichtigkeit des Themas aus. Aktuell läuft die Promotion für die EP auf Hochtouren. Außerdem geht es an die Vorbereitung für einen Musikvideodreh.

Interred is a one man band (so far)
trying to recreate the sound of oldschool hardcore death metal.
everything (all instruments) are performed by myself including drums,
i have an Alesis USBpro kit wired through EZDrummer using Metalheads EZX and Drumkit from Hell
so even though the drums are electric they are not programmed and 100% performed.

Influences include Death, Napalm Death, Carcass, Control Denied,  Behemoth, Vader, Deicide.. to name a few

If you enjoy listening, please feel free to download. I feel that we're living in a time where music should be available readily.
Besides, people will find a way to access it anyway.
