NY indie rock band The Lemon Twigs at its core is brothers Brian and Michael D’Addario. The band’s debut record Do Hollywood  came out last year and each brother wrote five songs on the record. When you see them play live, the brothers switch instruments, so they can sing the songs each wrote. Although young–the youngest D’Addario is still a teenager–the brothers have been immersed in music since they were born. Their father is a professional musician and their mother is a lifelong music fan.
Do Hollywood got started after the brothers sent Jonathan Rado, frontman of California indie rock band Foxygen, some demos over Twitter. Before they knew it, the band was signed to legendary label 4AD (home of SOHN, Deerhunter, Future Islands, The National, among others) and working with Rado on what would become Do Hollywood.
I got to hang out with the brothers the last time they were in town. Do the brothers really fight a lot? What was it like working with Jonathan Rado from Foxygen? What are the details behind the secret debut record that the D’Addario brothers have disavowed? Which legendary musician’s career would each brother like to have? You’ll have to listen to find out. 

My hang sesh with The Lemon Twigs turned out to be so fun, there was a lot of talk I couldn’t fit into the radio version of the show. In the extended version of the show, I talk with the brothers about growing up in a musical family, two more songs from the Do Hollywood record (“Hi+Lo” and “As Long As We’re Together”) and the other secrets the brothers are hiding.

The infamous Syd Barrett interview ! Recorded in 2005, one year before the passing of the original singer and founder of Pink Floyd, this encounter with a true rock myth still raises controversy among the fans. Fired from his band in 1968 because of his psychedelic drug abuse, the secluded musician was notoriously living with his sister and refusing interviews. It took Nicolas Ruffault a lot of love and hard work to have him on tape, especially because… ok, it was an hoax.

Syd Barrett ou l'un des grands mystères du rock. Fondateur et premier chanteur du groupe Pink Floyd, il en est exclu en 1968 pour avoir abusé des drogues, notamment psychédéliques. Malgré deux albums solo, Syd sombre dans la folie : il ne quitte plus le jardin familial après 1972. Un an avant son décès en juillet 2006, ARTE Radio lui consacrait un reportage - trop beau pour être vrai - en Bretagne.

Syd Barrett

En el año 2556, las cosas han cambiado mucho. Las monstruosamente grandes y poderosas radioformulas, extendidas como un virus contagioso de España para el mundo, controlan las mentes y tienen alienada a la población... en un "yo" que se extraña.
Pachamama se seca sin remedio y tras la última Gran Mojama Reseca de 2377, el Caribe por ejemplo, se ha convertido en un mar interior, tirando a lago. Un gran agujero de agua estancada, un ecosistema de enfermedades, una incubadora de plagas...el agua que mata, como nos comenta el representante de la oficina de asuntos externos del 2º Imperio Azteca Cuathemoc Juarez, que poco a poco se va consumiendo con el castigo al que es sometido por el implacable Astro Rey.
Pero es en las nuevas áreas descubiertas mediterráneas donde transcurre nuestra historia. Concrétamente en el valle Talaiótico que actualmente une físicamente las Montañas Baleáricas y la Ibérica ( que ya no es península). La Cafetería Junzano T-P-A, ofrece el mejor coffe de esta desértica y profunda redolada...aunque lo que ofrece hoy, es un nuevo capítulo de la vasta y longeva guerra eterna entre la Dancetroooper Army, protectora y altavoz del mensaje del Abismo Challenger y la alianza entre la P.M.S.A. ( Policia Musical Sin Alma) y el E.R.P. ( Ejercito Regular Pachanguero), al servicio de las abyectas y crueles radioformulas..
El interior de la cafetería era caótico, las tres miembros del AKELARRE FEMENINO DEL BAILE EN ZARAGOZA CO! ( A.F.B.Z.C) y el dueño del local se habían visto atrapados en un tiroteo cruzado con varios miembros de la P.M.S.A. que yacían abatidos en el suelo...pronóstico... fiambre...
Se encuentran de camino a la histórica, mítica y centenaria Milu's Party, que se celebra en las grandes cámaras huecas situadas bajo la superficie de lo que una vez fue el Ebro, haciendo retumbar un weekend al año el UNDERGROUND aragonés.
Llevan una caja dorada con esmeraldas de hipnótico verde incrustadas y cerrada con cuerdas de hilos de platino de la región de  NOSKAPE, que contiene una salvaje y funky-furiosa melodía de bajo capturada al aire, por miembros del GRUPO LEGENDARIO ESQUIZOFRÉNICO DE RITMOS MAJARAS, que deben hacer llegar a Kikemán para su doma y posterior suelta en la sesión de la Milu's Party.
Se encuentran rodeados por un buen número de Baflescar Patrulla de la P.M.S.A. y varios grupos de asalto especial de las sibilinas radioformulas, armados con fusiles anticreatividad, cañones ligeros de bazofia sonora, pistolas pastelazo y granadas de cantaditas trance.
Los Baflecar Patrulla escupen Radiolé y Cadena Dial a todo trapo.
El Sargento Rodrigo Bermeo, servidor leal, llegado desde la Asociación Melendi de la Autentica Rumba ( A.M.A.R.), se encuentra a cargo de la situación. Manda bajar el volumen y se dirige a las miembros del AKELARRE por el megáfono:

RB- No tenéis escapatoria!! Entregaos, ya la habéis liado bastante parda!
        Salid con los brazos en alto, las manos a la vista y no se derramara más sangre y estilo. No opongais más resistencia!
"Imagen Letal Häxel", una de las fundadoras del AKELARRE FEMENINO del BAILE en ZARAGOZA CO! replica al Sargento  Bermeo
ILH- Estilo??!!! A lo vuestro le llamáis estilo!!!
         Pacabala de joder!! Hahahahahahahahahaha!!
        Me parto la caja!! Hahahahahaha!!
       -Hahahahahahahahaha ( se parten también las otras dos miembros del AKELARRE)
        Haaaaaaahahahahahaha!! ( se siguen partiendo de risa, en una situación superbizarra y sarcástica ye ye yeah!!)
Colorado por las burlas y enojadísimo al haber sido ante sus hombres. el Sargento Bermeo estalla en cólera.

RB- Vosotras lo habéis querido!!  Agentes, a mi señal fuego sobre la cafetería!! Con todo!! 
        Olvidar las ordenes, quiero sus cabezas sobre un vinilo de Manuel Carrasco!!
        En es momento preciso "Lesiones OVX", se levanta por encima del parapeto y al grito de... Diablesas del Akelarre!!!, lanza una andanada de bassline y wooble que revienta uno de los vehículos de la bofia. La explosión hace saltar por los aires a varios miembros de la Columna Manu Tenorio, alguno de los cuales cae envuelto en llamas y no precisará este próximo verano de toallitas bronceadoras.
Se agacha veloz y una estruendosa y mortífera lluvia de melodías pop aflamencadas, rock de piratas heavies, pop meloso, azucarado e intrascendente, electrónica de garrafón, rayos de anticreatividad y sentidos cantautores  de la academia de O.T., arrasan con la cristalera de la cafetería, las paredes del interior y el botellero de diseño, provocando una  lluvia de escombros y cristalitos que cae sobre nuestras heroínas.

ILH- Lapique! Consigues contactar con ella??
Missis Lapique- No Häxel! No hay señal!!
                              Espera, si!!! Ahora!!
Noe Mixmix- Aquí la Sabia Y Legendaria Maestra Erudita Mixmix! Que ocurre?
ML- Noe! Sácanos de este puto agujero!!
        Estamos atrapadas en la cafetería, rodeadas. Y estos chicos no tienen intención de dejarnos marchar a la Milu's!!
NMM- Salgo para allá!! Llego en nada!! Estaros preparadas, no tendremos mucho tiempo!! Tally ho!
ML- Tally ho!
        Esta de camino! Necesitamos un plan rápido chicas!!
De repente, en lo que parece un claro ataque de síndrome de Estocolmo, Toni, el dueño del local, les dice:
T- Escuchadme! Estaos tranquilas! Yo os cubro!
ILH- Tu!!?? Pero que dices tío? Y porque fiarnos de ti? Por nuestra culpa te han arrasado el negocio.
T- Mirad, estos cretinos, desde hace mucho tiempo me han obligado a escuchar lo peor de lo peor, el hijo del Fary, la cuesta abajo de La Unión, los discos malos de Danza Invisible...Phil Collins, oh dios Phil Collins!!
     Y para colmo no me dejan hacer un puto Harlem Shake en la cafetería.! Mi puto Harlem Shake!!!
     Sabéis lo que es escuchar vuelta y vuelta "Siempre así"?  Decai? Kiko y Sarah? 
Los Melocos, los putos Melocos!!! Pignoise cuando van de tipos duros! Pogos con el Zapatillas de El Canto del Loco!!
      El Sueño de Morfeo?
      La Sonrisa de Julia? 
      La Oreja de Van Gogh?
      El Coño de Tu Madre!!!
Pero lo que las convence definitivamentwe es la visión de la K brillante tatuada en el antebrazo de Toni cuando se arremanga  la camisa blanca que lleva bordado en la izquierda del pecho, el nombre de lo que un día fue su Cafetería Junzano T-P-A.
TO- Si, es mi primo, soy uno de los vuestr@s. Me gane el tatoo de la K en las interminables noches de El Cairo de Huesca, en la Florida 135, en el Cubitos Club Sound... eeeh! el Kikemán, en la patata!
                Pasarme un par de cargadores bassline y unas cuantas granadas fidget de metralla cortante, yo todavía guardo por si acaso el subfusil Guettoblaster de breaks ragga y hip-hop... ...venga, dejarme a las pequeñas, montad en el puto coche y salir de aquí a toda pastilla! 
     No miréis atrás!!...y... mucha suerte chicas...
ML- Bailaremos a muerte por ti en la Milu's Party Toni! Gracias!!
        Recuerda... vida significa eterno!
Mientras tanto Noe Mixmix se aproxima a una velocidad endiablada y de manera vertiginosa a la ratonera donde se encuentran sus amigas.
A los mandos de su Aerocadillac, con los silenciadores de motor conectados y a unos 4 metros de altura divisa finalmente el cerco de la P.M.S.A. sobre las Diablesas del Akelarre.
Es entonces cuando apaga los silenciadores y comienza a sonar el rugido del motor y... KIKEMAN- BREAKS CONSTRUCTION, desplegando una gran fuerza sónica altamente rítmica. repleta de big beat, dub humeante de los barrios más oscuros de Kingston, MC's de la Federación Breaksnation!, raggabreaks cabalgados por toasters de las selvas interiores de las montañas jamaicanas ( con su curioso microclima marihuanero), basslines neumaticos, sudados bajos funk, profundidad wooble, electrobreaks misteriosos, contundentes Hardcore Girls y generosas dosis de Esquizosound.
Cruza por encima de las Patrullas de la P.M.S.A. y derrapa en el aire con precisión suiza frente a la entrada de la cafetería.

- NO DANCE NO GLORYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!
Toni se levanta gritando y al ritmo del beat que marca la última entrega de KIKEMAN, lanza una tempestad de plomo, ritmo loco, fatbass, granadas de metralla fidget, rimas afiladas, munición de diverso calibre, frecuencias anti-gravedad y cargas breakbeat UNDERGROUND, que cae sobre los atónitos agentes de la P.M.S.A., diezmándoles y provocando que caigan como peluches inocentes, a manos del payaso siniestro que se esconde tras la puerta al caer la noche más oscura.
Nuestras guerreras montan en el Aerocadillac y salen disparadas con la salvación en el bolsillo. El pequeño cofre sigue con ellas... próxima parada...la Milu's Party 2556.

In 2556, things have changed a lot. The monstrously large and powerful radio formulas, spread like a contagious virus from Spain to the world, control the minds and have alienated the population ... in an "I" that is strange.
