"Camina" is Daniel Imhof’s first release on Monada. Both songs are minimalist in their sound structure and yet radiate a true fullness of emotion. A slow, soulful and warm journey through deep space into an imaginary world, where a certain kind of peace of mind can unfold. After decades of playing for crowds as a club DJ, this Lp reflects his gradual move towards the sonic realm of ambient music. He is thrilled by the contributions of the artists on this project. 

Daniel Imhof is a musician and DJ based in a village close to Bern. His studio on the grounds of an organic farm is surrounded by birch trees. When he lets his gaze wander over his modular landscape, sometimes a red kite or a white crane flies into the picture. This might be one of the reasons why his music has this organic feel to it. His monthly ambient show "voyage" on the alternative radio station "Rabe" on Sunday mornings is an invitation to listen deeply, to lie down, to daydream. Occasionally he plays live for sleep concerts or other kinds of horizontal meditations.

Odd Okoddo are Olith Ratego and Sven Kacirek. 

Olith Ratego performs his immaculate vocals in the musical style called "dodo", which originates from the shores of Lake Victoria in Kenya, high in pitch and soulfully expressive. He himself refers to his music as "dodo blues". As a skilled luthier, Olith Ratego designs and builds his string instruments himself, first of all the five-stringed Okodo which lends its name to the project.

Sven Kacirek is a multi-instrumentalist commuting between Germany and Kenya for many years now, ever since he recorded his famous "Kenya Sessions" in 2010. He plays the marimba, percussions and piano, next to producing this project. He has closely collaborated with various international musicians, among them Nils Frahm, Shabaka Hutchings, F.S. Blumm and Marc Ribot.

The remix on the B side amplifies the essence of the song. Peter Power is a part of the Voodoohop collective from Brazil and his releases on Multi Culti or Polychrome Sounds fuel the rather slow, organically hypnotic dancefloors. He premiered this remix at the Heliodora festival in Brazil, at sunrise next to a giant waterfall, and it was just perfect.
