“El Viaje Remixed” EP is a reinterpretation of Joaquin Cornejo’s debut EP done by 7 producers with diverse approaches and sound palettes. The result is an incredibly eclectic reimagination of the original organic downtempo piece. ��It includes remixes by recognised producers such as Steffen Kirchhoff, San Ignacio , Eduardo Zambrano and Felipe Granda. At the same time it introduces emerging artists from the Manchester music scene such as the incredibly talented SonOfCushi, the wonderful Mola Mola duo and the amazing musician and producer HERMANITO who also plays violin a lot of Joaquin’s music such as ‘Cumbia a la Luna’ and ‘Brisa’. Every single remix is unique and expands the music of the original EP into new wonderful grounds.��“El Viaje Remixed” EP es una reinterpretación del primer EP de Joaquín Cornejo hecha por 7 productores con muy diversos estilos y enfoques. Into a Deeper Dimension with Steffen Ki | Chapter 042

This compilation is growing a forest. One tree at a time.
Each Euro spent on this compilation will fund a tree that will be planted in Portugal by "Primal Gathering".

The second edition of IN SPIRIT Holistic Music Production Retreat took place at Aterra in Portugal in the summer of 2019. Aspiring artists, passionate musicians, and experienced music producers met with the mutual intention to learn about music production, co-create music and reconnect with their essence by surrounding themselves with beautiful nature and listening deep within through meditation, breathwork, and sacred rituals. You can experience the result of this deeply transformative, inspirational, and healing journey AND directly support your Mother Earth with this compilation. Since we have received countless blessings from the sacred lands of Portugal we are grateful for the opportunity to give something back. All the income from the compilation will be donated to fund an organization that is planting trees. For every single Euro that you spent, 1 tree in Portugal will be planted by our friends from Primal Gathering.

Primal Gathering is an environmentally, socially and psychologically regenerative gathering. They intend to restore forests and ecosystems all over the world, planting seeds to a more sustainable future.

WHAT IS THE MUSIC OF ‘ECSTATIC DANCE’ ?

Many people find a beautiful song and think “Oh i’m gonna listen to it a lot !”
And there is a special kind of people who think “Oh I can’t wait to play it for others”. 
These kind of people are called “DJ"

I spend a big chunk of my time digging for music.
And the constant question that arises is:

Can I play it at Ecstatic Dance ?

For me, Ecstatic Dance is an opportunity to discover and dance to music that is not played on commercial dance floors or spotify playlists.

Music that invites my body to move in new or different ways, or to relax and be still.

Music that isn’t just happy-happy but that might induce sadness, anger, introspection, elevation and other states.

Music that connects me to myself, to others and to life.

That is true for me as a dancer, as a DJ and as a budding musician. 

Some of the music I play at Ecstatic Dance is light, dance-y, and approachable.

and some, well, is less so. 

One of my greatest challenges is finding the balance between playing what I love and between accommodating for what people can receive.

I know I can appeal to more people if i play more commercial music.

But I feel such a calling to share some of the treasures i find;

Like a 13 minutes piece weaving together traditional arabic music and a classical string quintet.

Or music by a swedish live-band integrating latin, jazz, african, and amazonian music. 

Or a heart-ripping african-american gospel blues piece from the 1920s that was etched on a gold disc and sent to outer space on the voyager space probe.

Or a polish folk song sung by a group of female singers and remixed by a french electronic musician.

The challenge to find this balance isn’t easy, but i embrace the challenge and the experiences and insights it brings.

And so, you can find some of these treasures in this DJ set, which I played at ’Snake Charmer’-  a slower edition of Ecstatic Dance - in Koh PhaNgan, July 9th, 2020.

By adding live percussion to their performance, they create a profound and unique experience. Reaching from Organic Downtempo, Neofolklor, to Old School Salsa & Cumbia mixed with Reggae, Dancehall, Afrobeat, and Global Bass, there are no boundaries to a specific genre as long as it will make you dance.
