This Summer Grusha Music presents something completely different. Russian producers Anton Ishutin and Denis Agamirov teamed up with Canadian-based singer Deniz Reno to provide an ethnic influenced anthem Anaklia’s Dream, dedicated to Georgia’s resort where the famous Kazantip festival takes places this year. Remix was made by the duo Pepper Cats

Prolific and talented, Belarusian, Michael A, has become a regular on the Proton Music catalogues in 2017 with two exceptional original EPs. Released in February, the first of these, "Bright Hope", now sees remixes of partner track, "Seven", from Italy and Spain.

Part of the esteemed Cassino and Laben production duo, Andrea Cassino has found himself at the forefront of the music scene for over a decade. Already finding his work featured on such labels as Armada, Tilth and Proton Music, supported by luminaries including Mauro Picotto, Tiesto and Ferry Corsten, Cassino decided to branch out on his own with a "more techno and tech house sound". Able to quickly find his production feet with his solo outings, his new underground sound found a home on the likes of Soundteller, Lowbit and Balkan Connection. 

A collaboration with fellow Italian, Danny Lloyd under their Nocturna moniker, has also yielded rich rewards, not least in the twin-track, "Pigmental" EP in November 2016, while Cassino's solo "Divine" EP in 2017 was yet another landmark in an illustrious career. Now returning for a debut solo remix on the label, Cassino's reworking of Michael A sees him take a silky-smooth approach to his craft with deep, rich groove and shaker driven percussion that evolves elegantly with wonderfully written melodies and textured pads. Making intelligent use of "Seven" constituent parts in a work that rises and falls with ease, a raft of additional production makes Cassino's track a fitting tribute.

Spanish producer, Gonzalo Luque, has always been successful with his production work. Hitting the heights with a Beatport number one and work for Cr2, Great Stuff and Monique Musique, he then found another rich seam of success with his Soulwerk production soubriquet. As such, a 2011 debut for the Canadian Whose Haus imprint quickly led to the "Fraktals" EP for Cid Inc.'s Replug later that year. Since then, Mirabilis, Perspectives Digital and Balkan Connection have all featured the Madrid resident's work in production material that has been supported by Hernan Cattaneo, Eelke Kleijn and Nick Muir.

A host of production credits can be found for Proton Music since a 2013 remix of Dousk, and it is with a pair of original EPs in "Searching For You Through The Stars" and "Spiritcatcher", that Soulwerk hit the high notes. Furthermore, 2016's "The New Beginning" was an additional highlight including a remix from Simos Tagias. Now returning to the label, the Soulwerk rerub is a wonderfully mature offering. Encased within a deep, pounding kick, ticking percussive groove and rich bass line, Luque has cleverly interpreted the original, creating a new and brooding offering that builds effortlessly through free-flowing melodies and thickly textured pads. A hypnotic, squelching arpeggio rises to a crescendo in the third movement that is certain to ensure the Soulwerk remix will become a staple of DJ sets across the globe, filling dance floors en route.

Remixes from Andrea Cassino and Soulwerk have ensured "Seven" is still very much a lucky number for Michael A.
