CUERPOS returns with the “En Dos Partes” EP on YUNG DUMB Records, a follow-up to their self-released record from 2021, “Plumas”. The title of the EP translates to “in two places” and is a nod to the duo’s diverse musical background in both punk and electronic music.

 The record features three original tracks – plus one remix – that span house, post-punk, and dub. With this release, the Canadian duo once again showcase their unique approach to dance music, fusing live instrumentation with raw vocal takes and dusty drums.

 The first track, Sueño Sin Fin, is an upbeat dance track that pairs a driving bassline with catchy vocals. This track is reworked by the Montreal-based DJ and producer, Regularfantasy, with the adventurous DJ and the dancefloor in mind. The third track of the EP, Malas Lenguas, is a moody, downtempo house cut with post-punk and dub leanings. Finally, the EP is rounded out with a dub track that features a lurching bassline, whirring FX, and live percussion.

 CUERPOS is a Newfoundland-based experimental music duo formed in 2019 by DJ/producer Francis Dawson and multi-instrumentalist Nadia Duman. Created with the intention of celebrating their Latin roots and recontextualizing the sounds they grew up listening to, CUERPOS combines elements from Latin and Caribbean music – cumbia, dub, reggae – with club-ready electronic beats and production.
