Having taken a more passive role providing edits and live instrumentation for the likes of Errors and Clark in recent years, Wax Stag’s sophomore record II (duh) is a supple extension of that pastoral sound. The track titles tell the whole story, really: “Woodland Walk”, “Race To The Lake”, “Caverns” and lead-off “Summit”.

Longtime homie FaltyDL - a man who, as Thris can attest, enjoys the finer things in life (i.e. eating grapes and listening to jazz) - provides a grin-worthy remix of the already ebullient track. The chintzy samples and limber percussion harken back to 2012's Hardcourage/Our House Stab release - bold colours splashed left, right n centre.

The sound of trickling fountains reverberates throughout your mind, breaking your defenses down into a state of pure, blissful relaxation. Fittingly, these sounds come straight from label founder and forward-thinking steward of modern New Age music, Matthewdavid. He is your pilot for the duration of his Ashram, transporting you from one serene scene to the next on his Mindflight Express. In this collection of three long-form compositions, heavy water sounds and flute mix with field recordings from Bali, sweeping synthesizers, and the angelic vocals of Nora Keyes (“Dancing Ganesh”). Though Ashram documents a special time and place in the producer's life, it may only whet listeners' appetites for its double-LP followup, the contemporary New Age masterwork Trust the Guide and Glide.

"Probably it got around already: In May one of this year's most anticipated and most important releases for Sonar Kollektiv is in store, Belgian soul singer and songwriter Liz Aku's debut for the label, “Ankhor”. The first single off the twelve-tracks strong album, “Seasons Change”, hits now the digital stores. Credits for the song go to producer duo Potatohead People (Nick Wisdom & AstroLogical). Their track “Blue Charms” (together with guitar player Danny McKinnon), already featured on their 2015 album “Big Luxury”, serves as the ultimate foundation for Liz Aku's tantalizing voice. To be honest, everything matches so perfectly, you more likely tend to imagine how these four musicians composed and recorded the song together in the same studio. Eventually they created a tune which is a pleasant presentiment for the album named “Ankhor” coming out in May 2017."

For some the groove cannot be learned or given; It is an inherent and intuitive part of their soul. Intr0beatz, aka Reykjavik native
Arsaell Thor Ingvason, whole life has been about the groove. From his earliest years delving into his father’s musical collecting and
compositions, he first came to prominence as Intr0beatz back in the late ‘90s first as a turntablist, then as the beat producers behind
the seminal 2000s Icelandic hip-hop group Forgotten Lores.
 
But Ingvason is not one who is comfortable keeping still in his quest for deep sounds and immersive beats. Delving into his musical
past, as well as opening up his horizons, he released Half Time in 2011 on Möller Records. A heady mix pot of chill out, deep house,
funk, and hip hop, it marked not only a maturity in Ingvason’s production but hinted at several new directions away from his hip-hop
status.
 
Since Half Time, Ingvason has been delving ever deeper into house music, over the last few years releasing a slew of 12”s and EPs on
various deep house labels such as  Dark Energy, Something Else, and Closer To Truth. Today, Intr0beatz has become a major fulcrum
in Iceland’s recent house music revival both as a member of the BLOKK house music collective as well as playing and DJing in Europe
and Japan.
