IntransikBeats is a record label that aims to highlight raw and uncompromising Techno which displays a dark and gloomy musical image. Our network of like-minded people strives to innovate and contribute to a ever growing community of producers and artists, always remembering where we came from and where we want to be.

Starting out as group of independent artists and DJs, involved in and fostering the alternative music scene in Shanghai, China where Intransik has been fortunate enough to be able to host events for many years.

Sound design and audio engineering is an integral part of the team’s creative output. Naturally this curiosity in original soundtracks and post production lead to the involvement in creating and applying various sonic concepts to different media projects.

We have made it our goal to try to capture the sound of these events and the musical output of the artists involved. This vision will be showcased on our label and upcoming vinyl releases starting, along with label events, art installations and various cross-media projects.

Fakir was born in Brussels in January 1990. After having lived in Belgium, Hong-Kong and France, Fakir moved to Beijing in 2006, where he stopped the violin and took up production. Upon moving to Shanghai in 2007, Fakir met the likes of Minimal Entropy and Vince and Steven Lorenz. Altogether, they explored the world of Production and sequencers. A year later, Intransik Beats was born.

In 2009, Fakir started studying Creative Music Technology at Bath Spa university, where he explored different areas of the music industry, along with perfecting his production skills. Fakir’s tracks vary, ranging from Chillout and soundscapes to Minimal Techno and pure minimal beats. Along with the other members of Intransik, Fakir’s tracks are usually very dark and groovy. Expect a hard, deep kick, a rolling bassline, dreamy melodies and complex percussions, atmospheres and an emphasis on textural elements. With interesting transitions and a flowing track selection, Fakir’s sets will never cease to surprise you, and keep you on your toes all night long.
