SleepyLion (James Davidson). Born in 1987 and raised in Leigh on Mendip near Bristol. SleepyLion is one of five Deep Space Members and one of three founding members. He, like all of the DS members is a dj and promoter but also dabbles in film making and is at the forefront of the live visuals at Deep Space nights. Before Deep Space Records UK there was 'Fucking Right Records', back in those days we didnt take ourselves too seriously. In 2012 SleepyLion launched FRTV, a series of mixes recorded with video to showcase our djs skills plus quirky and random intros to entertain. This series of four FRTV videos would lay the foundations for Fucking Right Records and then Deep Space Records UK as we know it today. In 2013 along with MR:L and MillStone he founded Deep Space Records UK (DSUK) and by the summer of that year Deep Space had landed in The Park at Glastonbury Festival. The Treehouse was the venue where on Sunday night to close the festival SleepyLion went B2B with Mr:L in a 3 hour set. He has since returned to Glastonbury, The Boom Town Fair as well as Bristol and Frome clubs/ pubs. In late 2015 SleepyLion masterminded the Creatures of Deep Space night, 14 hours of art, music and fire to raise money for mental health charity mind tws. Artists donating there work  for auction included Rodney Matthews, Paul Boswell and Cage One. Over £1400 was raised from  art and door takings. On a SleepyLion mix you can expect a jungle/ intelligent dnb hybrid plus breaks, funk, hip hop and chill out.

Mr:L Born And Raised Somerset In The UK Has Had A Passion For Music Since He Can Remember. From The Tender Age of 5 He Has Always Been Around Music. 
      His Parents Playing Music Around The House From Artist Inc . Van Morrision , Chris Rea , James Last , Tina Tuner , Simply Red , John Lee Hooker , Elvis Presley , ABBA , Earth Wind and Fire .
     Growing Up With Older Sisters Also Meant Has Was Exposed To More Underground Music Such As Helter Skelter Mix Tapes From The Early 90s , Jungle , RNB , Techno.
     Once He Was At School His Passion For Music Grew Even More. House Music Was Where It all Began For MR:L Playing House Music On His Walkman All Day Everyday. His Love For Dance Music Grew Even More When Garage Became Huge In The UK This Is When He Thought He Would Love To Become A DJ .. 
     Whilst Listening To Dance Music He Found Hip Hop Listening To Artist Such as Tribe Called Quest , Method Man , 2 PAC , Biggy , Naz , Etc . Listening To Hip Hop Showed Him How Much Influence Funk , Soul , Jazz , Swing And Blues Had On These Artists So He Checked It Out To Find Out He Had Been Missing Out On All This Great Music So His Love For Funk , Soul , Jazz , Swing And Blues Grew Still To This Day From Miles Davis , Benny GoodMan , Count Basie , Billy Holiday The List Goes On…
   Jump To 2003 The First Time He Heard High Contrast - Return Of Forever On Hospital Records He Could Not Believe What He Was Hearing From Then On Drum And Bass Was Fully In His Life . He Could Not Believe That Drum And Bass Had All The Genre Of Music He Had Listened To In Past All Incorporated In The Genre . After Checking Out What The Genre Had To Offer He Then Decided It Was Time To Save And Get His First Dj Set Up And Start Mixing Drum And Bass..
       After Homing His Craft For A Few Years His Was Ready To Show His Talents Out On The Club Scene. His First Break Was At A Local Night Club To Him Playing At Regular Nights There Learning How To Play To A Crowd. Playing These Events Showed Some Bristol Promotors That He Was Ready To Come To Bristol And Play At There Events . Once He Played In Bristol He Managed To Get Resident Slots At NineTree And Nebula Playing There Every Other Month.. One Night At The Ninetree Event Ben SoundScape One Part Of The Insiders Who Runs The Successful Club Night Intrigue Ask Him To Come And Play At One Of His Events. After Playing His First Set There He Became Resident For Intrigue Still To This Day…
      Time For The Next Step Making A Collective Team Of Djs And Starting A Label With His Long Time Friends Millstone And SleepyLion . This is Where Fucking Right Records Was Born. Doing Online Live Dj Shows Called FRTV Hosted On Youtube. This was A Platform For The FRR Team To Start Showcasing There Dj Skills….
       Its Now 2013 Fucking Right Records Was Noticed By A Venue Host At Glastonbury Festival . So The FRR Team Went And Did a Take Over Night with Great Success. After Having A Long Think About The Label Name They Thought It Was Not The Right Image For Them So DEEP SPACE RECORDS UK Was Born . After Great Success At Glastonbury The Deep Space Team Where Offered A Take Over Slot At BoomTown Festival That Same Year..

I am specifically interested in situations where composers anticipate and strategize future third-party remixing of their compositions as part of a larger and complex rhetorical strategy that plays out across physical and digital spaces. We find this type of thinking—the asking of “how might the text be rewritten?” and “why, where, and for whom might this text be rewritten?”—an increasingly important set of questions in a digital age characterized, for instance, by swift, easy, and deep web searching and by copying and pasting practices. 

COLLAGE ::  Artistic compositions of materials and objects pasted and/or sewn/woven over and through surfaces, often with unifying and/or juxtaposing structures, lines, colors, themes in order to create textured, alive, amplified spaces.
