Ajna & Massergy - Canticle Of Woe And Hope (free download)

Found on my debut album "Language of the Ancients," this is one of my favorite tracks from that release. Here it is performed live in the studio for all of you to enjoy! All faders, realtime effects, and synthesizers were all recorded in one take, the same way I would do it live at a show. This is chance for you to revisit the song and a unique opportunity to hear me playing live in the studio!

Casually picked up my 2.4 shakuhachi made by Perry Yung and was playing a few tones when I realized my freestanding pianoharp was resonating like crazy. Thus this little experiment. Headphones or good monitors to hear the subtle resonance.

Ajna is the enigmatic project of Chris F from New York and has been active since 2008. This project is mainly inspired by the supernatural, surrealism, esotericism, the collective unconscious, nature and antiquity. Ajna's sound has often been described as hauntingly beautiful, otherworldly, mysterious, nightmarish, etc…ranging from obscure dark ambient soundscapes to deep isolationist drone with electro-acoustic and industrial elements. The artist is currently affiliated with the Cyclic Law and Winter-Light labels.
