GAB002 sees Gimme A Break Records keep things local with a rowdy EP from Leeds-based DJ and producer BEERUS. Over the last six months, BEERUS has demonstrated his production power through two bodacious releases on Gunfinger Food’s new sub-label, Booty Frooty Records. 
Fusing UK styles including hardcore, acid and jungle with US staples such as electro, juke and footwork, BEERUS has established a playful sound primed for the dancefloor.

BEERUS’s “9000” EP opens with a hardcore anthem which combines rave stabs with Dragon Ball samples and an acid line threatening to spiral out of control at any given moment. “Play This Shit” sees the EP take a sensual turn as BEERUS channels the sounds of Chicago with an enticing juke number. “Booty Acid” follows suit, offering up a particularly self-explanatory track title; luscious electro meets 303s.
“Love4U” is BEERUS’s love letter to the happy hardcore scene as a thumping 4x4 bassline collides with melancholic vocals and piano lunacy. Finally, BEERUS rounds off GAB002 in style with “DO U WANT ME” an atmospheric jungle weapon.

Kid Cosmit -

Cai aka Kid Cosmit is a Yorkshire based producer, DJ and Multi Instrumentalist.. with a background in classical/ jazz piano and having played in multiple jazz, funk bands he has a solid grounding. In the last 5 years he has branched out into the electronic music spectrum, learning to produce + DJ and running events with the Yestek Brand! That has led him to play at venues / festivals like glastonbury/ eden/ beaverworks / old red and support big names in the hard dance scene like mandidextrous / vandal / ed Cox / akov and phat world

He is currently working on his debut EP which will be released on highly acclaimed London label Das Booty,  a fusion of acid, booty, funk, rave and jungle styles mashed up with his unique and highly melodic style. 

Previous collaborative outings include working with samurai breaks on a couple of tracks, most notably a tune on TraxHaven that was picked up by sherelle and played as a closing track in her dekmantel boiler room show! This sets the foundation well for how Cai will evolve and progress his sound to the next level.. keep those ears peeled like satsumas cos he is bringint the JUICE

WANTED 

you’ve been asking for this for way too long now, and i heard you.

what started off as a little emotional melody i created last summer, ended up being of my favorite projects to play out at shows.

this summer however, i’ve been getting loads of messages and videos at festivals. from people singing the lyrics, to you guys asking for this release every single day, it’s safe to say i had to get to work and release it.

inbetween traveling and show preps, i put together little moments to polish this project, and to really put my heart and soul to it.

super happy with how it turned out, and i’m hoping you like it as much as i do!
