Ahead of our club night at The Carpet Shop in London next Friday (18 August), we present a 100% vinyl mix by DJ Antepop for The MUSAR Show, a two hour journey through the deep sounds of house, dub techno, ambient and widescreen electronics. A masterclass on how to build a set from the founder of Inverted Audio.

If Jungle and Drum & Bass were his first love, Tom Durston aka Antepop went on to explore a much more diverse spectrum of electronic music, drawing in the far-reaching scope of Inverted Audio's coverage, allowing him to reinvent himself time after time.

Welcoming Nico Rosenberg to The Observatory, who presents a delicately woven, deep listening session, featuring some very exciting forthcoming material...

Nico is a sound artist and multi-instrumentalist from Santiago de Chile. Exploring the use of obsolete cassette recorders and modular synthesizers, his hopeful and melancholic textures invite the listener to contemplate the passing of time. Nico became known as a founding member of the band Boraj, and has continued to release a series of ambient albums in different countries.

Before summer ended this year, Colorado-based DJ Steven Dermody was visiting family in Ohio. He woke one night to the light of the blue moon shining through trees, projecting pools of light on the grass below. Taking it in for a long moment, he took a photo from where he stood in his childhood bedroom. After opening up the first hour of this month’s show with some new favorites, I’m honored to host Steven on Bright Patterns for the second hour, where he reimagines and translates this moment with such personal intention.

2nd Hour: Sbat

Recorded in my Tokyo apartment on a couple of 1200s, a lone XDJ and my cherished FF4000 mixer, the mix was slowly put together over the course of a couple of months as I went through almost all of my collection trying to find the right records (old and new). I've always been a big fan of DJs that can keep chugging from one 100bpm obscure number to the next, all the while making all everything sound like it belongs together (e.g. Andrew Weatherall in full backroom swing) and I really wanted to try and create my own version of that where you're taken through different styles, almost without realising (I hope), but whilst keeping the focus on a late night/early morning stomp in the backroom of some weird Tokyo after hours club you probably should have left ages ago...but you didn't...and you still have a few more hours in you.

Roberto B (@2roberto2) and I are glad to present our final track "Fly with Us 7", in our now completed album "Fly with Us". It was composed by Roberto B on 20 September 2024 in MAGIX (initial composition, recording, arrangement and mix) and Alex M on 22 May 2025 in Logic Pro using AKAI keyboard midi input controller (subsequent composition, recording, arrangement and mix), with a final mix and recording on 8 June 2025 by Roberto B (in MAGIX), and released here on SoundCloud this Sunday afternoon (in Europe), 15 June 2025, together with the release of the whole album to follow in minutes. We hope you'll enjoy our new concept album in its entirety.

The artwork cover for the album and all its tracks combines a painting by Roberto B of 1 June 2022 (in the bottom part) with design and implementation in PowerPoint and Mac OS Preview by Alex M of 17 November 2024 - in coordination and agreement between the two.
