For the third installment of our podcast series, we welcome Australian-born Berlin-based dj, producer, and soundscape artist Sa Pa. With a name referencing northern Vietnam's high, foggy mountains, expect a live recorded podcast from our May party that resembles the northern parts of Vietnam: Hazy, clear and unclear, mystic, and at times pushing forward, finding directions, this podcast feels like a (musical) journey of ambient soundscapes, dub, and pitched down that leaves one to reach the higher spheres (of Vietnam).

Before summer ended this year, Colorado-based DJ Steven Dermody was visiting family in Ohio. He woke one night to the light of the blue moon shining through trees, projecting pools of light on the grass below. Taking it in for a long moment, he took a photo from where he stood in his childhood bedroom. After opening up the first hour of this month’s show with some new favorites, I’m honored to host Steven on Bright Patterns for the second hour, where he reimagines and translates this moment with such personal intention.

"Playing music at Temple was a real pleasure, thanks to the organizing crew, Espacio Perpendicular, and the attendees. A beautiful memory for those who were there, dancing and daydreaming. As the last DJ set of the event, my intention with the mix was to encourage swaying, static dancing. Just like in Telaraña, my show on Radio Relativa, I tried to harmonize classic sounds from the '90s like dub, downtempo, IDM... Inspired by the significant chill-out movement of that decade. CHILL OUT OR DIE!"
