DJ NATURE DISCO MIX (2024) PART 1. (PERSONAL EDITS & BITS)

This is part 2 of a 2-part mix Redg Weeks (Invada records label boss) compiled and edited for a Bristol exhibition by legendary street artist and close comrade of Invada, Sickboy.

The exhibition took place over May bank holiday 2016. The music you hear on this stream was played continuously on a loop (alongside Part 1) over the 4 day exhibition. 

The aim of the mix is to be to be listened to as one continuous piece hence we have provided no track idents.

After intense touring ‘Of Desire’ in Europe, Asia and beyond,  The KVB returned to their studio to further immerse themselves in sonic experimentation. The resulting ‘Above Us’ heralds the next chapter in the adopted-Berliners dark, electronic pop development. With waves of synthesisers, flourishes of surf guitar and sequences driving with nervous energy, the tension finally relieves with a surging, euphoric chorus. 

Brighter and more expansive than ever, the track demonstrates the bands growing ability to create sonic journeys, yet retains the atmosphere synonymous with The KVB.

This Summer sees the duo make several festival appearances including Green Man and Meltdown the latter of which is curated by The Cure’s Robert Smith.

Esben & The Witch - Warpath

Fascinating news! <a href="http://esbenandthewitch.co.uk">Esben & the Witch</a> will return with their new album Wash the Sins Not Only the Face, on 01.21.13 via Matador. The Brighton (UK) trio follow up their acclaimed 2011 debut album Violet Cries by transcending ‘second album’ preconceptions, crafting a record that’s bold, confident, expansive & not ‘difficult’ in the slightest. Daniel Copeman of the band says: “We had a clearer idea of what we wanted to achieve on this album, and how we could achieve it. We’re more focused, more confident.”

Premiering the 1st track taken from the album today, "Deathwaltz" shows a band that have come of age & that new found confidence certainly shines through. The band also launch a <a href="http://esbenandthewitch.co.uk">new website</a> today as well as announcing UK + European tour dates that will follow the album’s release, culminating with a headline London Scala show.
