"The approach behind this mix is different to what I normally do, it starts from another point of view. 

I decided to dedicate this mix to one of my inspirations and true musical pioneers Steve Roach. The whole mix is based around his work and tries to balance it with work of other artists and friend producers who are subconsciously following the same musical path as he did. It contains a full range of atmospheric shape shifting rhythms and well blended, storytelling fractals that emerge into a variation of seasons and styles. I'm trying to earmark what Roach did within his musical work."

I was lucky enough to see Linni play live at Monument festival in Norway last year and was blown away.. her ability to seamlessly fuse psychedelic melodies, driving basslines & unique percussive rifts, all in a somehow soothing yet driving manner, is truely a work of art.

Based in Basel, she plays a big part of the local underground scene, where she is part of the well-respected Amenthia Recordings, co-host of Home Radio and a resident at Elysia. Timnah is a well seasoned DJ, and can be traced by her unique taste of unexpected and expected listenables, where patience is the most important.

In this mix Timnah shows the ambient side of her spectrum, with a live recording from Springkell, a gathering which took place at a Scottish castle last year. An introspective mix, blending floating soundscapes and aqueous drones - perfect any kinds of mind journeys.

Ute Mix Series #67 | Timnah

Our latest mix is a remarkable live set from The Hague-based producer Harald Uunk, who guides us through an exploration of the psyche from which we emerge anew. Harald calls upon self-made instruments, field recordings, and experimentation with hardware and software to reach the furthest limits of his sonic vision, and what we discover there is breathtaking. An immediate and compelling sense of urgency finds itself fractured, recomposed, and through the fragments we glimpse the primordial. I've been eager to hear more of Harald's work for quite some time, so the opportunity to share this set for the series feels truly special. Enjoy the journey, and thank you Harald!

Faery is a London-based DJ whose hypnotic selections weave together the psychedelic reaches of deep techno, tripped-out psy, and dark, vortex-like DnB. A lover of both pitched-down chuggers and fast-paced rollers alike, her sound connects the dots through a focus on intricate sound design and rich, moody textures. 

Over the past year, she’s played at iconic venues and festivals across Europe, including Amsterdam’s De School, Positive Education Festival, London’s Village Underground, and Berlin’s Renate. Alongside her club appearances, Faery explores the world-building potential of sound, connecting it to her interest in environmental theory through her Bio-17 sound art project - where original biorhythmic samples are woven into experimental ambient to create speculative sonic worlds.

Her storytelling for this beautiful journey : "For the beginning of the mix I was picturing water dripping from the roof of a cave - the atmospheres at this point are quite cavernous. Then there’s a deep pulsating section that feels like distant tectonic activity. As we delve deeper into the cave network we reach a complex system of tunnels and eventually reach the chaos of spitting, liquified magma"
