Works As a look back, back to 2014 when Dominik aka Kletis moved to the new city at the top northern borders of Czech Sudeten land. City where is always raining. And where melancholic mood spreads through the city from the nearby forests with the morning fog. Back to 2014 when kletis music production was highly influenced by UKs original sound of dubstep. Those sub-level harmonic beats and gun fingers in the sky. Those memories of a Sunday hangover, when you stay in bed all day and your only duty is to change vinyl once you listened both sides.  This ep is Kletis's reflection of his relationship with the city he's been living since 2014. Both Happy and Sad times, Pure Ecstasy and Sadness, Broken Hearth and Feeling Loved. That's the Midnight Nectar.

Dam Swindle's Maarten Smeets, aka Wanderist, launches his Transient Nature imprint this April with four-track EP 'Think Potential' from Dukwa.
Transient Nature is a label dedicated to the world of machine funk with a sonic aesthetic of off-kilter techno and electro, and the first release sees Dukwa deliver an EP as varied as it is powerful. Transient Nature has a busy 2021 planned with releases from Detroit's Scan7, Black Cadmium and Maarten's solo project: Wanderist. The 'Think Potential' EP is deeply rooted in gritty electronics and illustrates the producer's love for hardware and vintage techniques - three of the tracks are hardware jams recorded straight to tape.

The driving Rhodes licks and fluttering percussion on 'Who Cares' gets the EP rolling before the distorted electronica and stabbing 303s fuse harmoniously on 'High Position'. Up next, 'It's U' delivers an old-school tinged electro number with its slamming drums, robotic vocals and squeaking acid lines. The EP closer, 'Eye2eye' sees Dukwa moving deeper into the electronica territory with industrial drums and dreamy piano lines working together with mesmerising effect.

With recent output ranging from Detroit house inspired MPC-driven tracks to more conceptual electronic work, Dukwa's soulful yet dynamic releases for the likes of Numbers, Don't Be Afraid and his eponymous imprint have won a wide range of support as well as picking up a coveted 'Hottest Record in The World' from the BBC's Annie Mac.

London-based sound mangler & audio-artist extraordinaire Rico Casazza drops his first EP for Insult To Injury, the Ransom Note Records sub-label run by Timothy Clerkin.

And here we have the title track for you to chew over, before the remainder of the release drops here, later in the month; and via 'Catharsis' we're treated to a slow, atmospheric and glitchy IDM cut that sounds like it was recorded in a run-down warehouse somewhere in an industrial wasteland, circa 1992.

The noise echoed and bounced between the walls of the large, empty warehouse. It were as if the drums rioted and roared on repeat, ploughing onwards into the darkness of the abyss. From time to time a bright, flickering light illuminated the entirety of the space - the shadowy corners of this space were exposed for a brief second only to return to the dense black state they were before. From time to time he would hear a shout or a scream from some wild friend nearby, a nameless noise, a shot in the dark. 

Holger Zilske is set to release a new EP via AEONIC, a powerful EP set to cause damage in dark rooms. Holger himself describes the release as follows:

"Covid-19 and some major family issues made me focus on my inner-self and let me reflect my situation a lot. I wanted to do something more personal again. Something not just functional. ON REPEAT definitely has some Kraftwerk reminiscences. I combined the robot like vocals from a book reading app with my Juno 106, Roland 101 and 808 beats. A combination of very classic elements that created something to enjoy on a party, as well as at home.“

The EP comes with a crucial remix from techno artist Vril, who reworks the track 'On Repeat' into a wondrous electronic spectacle.

Splits is a new series of releases from OO Recordings that focuses on connecting two artistic minds into one split cassette.
The first installment is a Nordic affair with Iceland's Jónbjörn on the A-side and Finland's Torolf Stendik on the B-side. Though stylistically operating in different shades of electronic music, both artists share a knack for relentless experimentation, ingenious use of their chosen array of sounds, and Nordic quirks that are hard to put a finger on. Having been fans of both artists for years, we're more than thrilled to present to You the meeting between two mind-bending talents.

OO Recordings is a label run by DJ Aleksi, Handshaking, and Raul E. The label focuses on releasing electronic music from a local perspective yet with an international connection. The previous releases have focused on exploring the label’s provincial scene of Helsinki, Finland. As a next step in the label’s voyage in music, the aim for the new Splits series is to serve as a meeting spot for two producers who share a similar space in the minds of the label’s founders’ heads. You know, kind of like combining two people that do different things but somehow share an ethos or an underlying spirit of doing - at least in our minds.

OO Recordings also hosts a monthly show on Noods Radio. Titled O to O, the show focuses on exploring sounds that inspire both the trio of DJ-producers behind the label as well artists connected to it, and in general people who are friends of the crew or just darn talented DJ’s.

O to O is also a club night at the notorious Kaiku in Helsinki, Finland

The roads were clear tonight. Just as well, they'd had a foot on the accelerator as soon as they hit the motorway. It wouldn't be long before they turned off into rural country roads and made their way through the forest, guided not by street lights but by the distant throb of music, leading them to a utopia within the trees. At least for the next 15 hours, thoughts of the working week would be left behind...

For their next release, Moscow's Ida Sound (ИДА) keep it in the family, welcoming the talents of long-time friend, collaborator and remixer Panorama Channel for his first solo EP on the label. Made up of two original cuts, backed by remixes from Malka Tuti affiliate Linja and NYC-Berlin duo Ma Sha Ru, 'Dybenko Meltdown' is one for the floor; fuelled by mysterious melodies, crisp breaks, rumbling bass lines and bags full of rave energy.
