Banoffee Pies Records 16th Original Series release comes via a 4 track
Split EP collaboration between Kincaid, and Zenzizenz, the ambient moniker of techno producer Viers. After a long year behind us, and likely ahead, this record takes a temporary step into the calm and adds reflection to the blurred months that passed.

The release is a collection of textural bumps and melodies opening with Kincaid’s 9 minute “Slow Stumble Home” - an aptly titled down tempo trip through a confused space, layered with composition, like a Playstation home screen theme on Mushrooms. Calm follows with two tracks from Zenzizenz - “Returning From Home”, a steady meditation through rumbling sounds soon shift to a new mood on the B side. “Falling Off” offers a more lethargic wandering through the marshland before BP016 comes to it’s close with “Single Cell”, the 2nd Kincaid track, which concludes with a chaptered 4x4 structure and slow bursts of energy. Time to absorb. Love BP x

The label’s inaugural release unites contributions of 4 artists, with a common ground of techy, playfully modern-sounding tracks with a serious edge and a decent amount of bleeps.  The A-Side opens with a springy, chirpy, minimal tech groover by Berlin-based Rudolf C. It has a light, yet discernible shuffle that drives the track towards a smooth and sunny vibe. Tristan Arp from Mexico is draggin us into water with his captivating aquatic breakbeat groover. At times meditative, at times hectic, it keeps the mind busy with bubbles and waves.
On the flipside, things move forward at a higher pace. 
De Lichting co-founder and Amsterdam-based queniv is teleporting us into a darker environment with a minimal-ish, electro-ish tech nightmare with a merciless groove and little relief.
O-Wells, Die Orakel regular, rounds off the EP with an euphoric, light and choppy, garage-ish track with a restrained, suspenseful energy that only gets unleashed towards the end.

We are back, out of nowhere, with JCow’s ‘in my elem3nt7’ - Out June 3 2023.

Tracks designed for dance-floor breakouts and closed-eye catharsis. We’ve heard these tracks come a long way from inception. Cerebral and kinetic, each track has a unique character, functional yet stand out.

Tracks like ‘a complex range of human emojis’ pay-no-mind in referencing the past with a sly smirk and an updated twist, while the title track ‘in my elem3nt7’ conjures a certain mystical landscape - the tracks bold narrative shift midway is a notable payoff. Swerving boldly into new territory, the beats fade and return from new angles, sounds cutting and slicing through the speaker like angelic machine gun fire. The drum programming wielded like a weapon in this one, with those majestic horn samples like calls from the ether. 

Exaels ‘swampbuggy’ reworking of title track on the B2 provides the perfect alternate universe, working its way from a sparse ambience into an inspired IDM-leaning breakbeat epilogue.
