Serving up 4 slices of tech’d out wiggle, melding: techno, minimal, electro, and a splash of noxious chemicals, the Anxiety Bar EP comprises a variety of heavyweight d-floor weapons.

Threat Level Midnight blends a combo of idiosyncratic drum samples with an infectious bubbling synth line, a prime example of peak-time tech-house tackle. While the title track Anxiety Bar takes a dark, moody, almost gothic turn, seriously phat bass for seriously phat systems. 

On the B, Integrated Lizard People slithers and slinks about gurgling synth lines and features unsettling reptilian almost-vocal sounds. Serving as a high-class closer, Fermented Feelings reigns in the trip with satisfying electro-ish drums, sauntering atop a sophisticated, warping melody.

Five months since the release of ‘Fata Morgana I‘, German label Collateral Series gear up to issue their second extended player from Spanish producer Vasco Ispirian...Our pick is ‘Flashing On Flushing‘ – a mesmerising slice of dub techno starting with a bass-driven groove backed by thumping kick drums, before leading to spaced-echoed soundscapes and a superstorm of streaking hi-hats. At the beginning of the second minute, the track reaches a high point capped by a hyper-acid crescendo.

Following previous editions in 2021 and 2022, Matthew Herbert's record label Accidental gear up to release the third volume of Antechamber Music, presenting a various artist cassette compilation probing at the intersection between avant-garde, neo-classical and electronic experimental music. Our pick from the compilation is 'Nuremberg' by American electroacoustic producer George Hurd thanks to his deft use of sustained piano combined with warm atmospheric ambient, resulting in an emotive composition that provides space for pensive and introspective moments.

It follows with a cracking collaboration between Thor, the head honcho at Thule Records & Ohm, the man responsible for this release. It‘s an enigmatic dub techno journey –finely crafted as expected from those veterans of the scene. The flipside beginswith Waage, the mysterious dub techno wizard, who offers an atmospheric and meditative dub techno extravaganza. It‘s subtle, yet intriguing. The ambient dub techno legend Yagyabrings the release through the finishing line with his signature powerful glacial techno with dubby chord progression that has made him such a force to be reckoned with in the scene. OHM Series is the brainchild of the establised Copenhagen-based techno artist OHM (Bjarnar Jónsson) and was founded in 2021.
