Jon Dark releases Debut EP Deep Enough on MY HAUS Records

New kids on the block MY HAUS Records offer up their first release and boy is it a whopper! This June 2nd rising star Jon Dark is set to make a solid name for herself with her huge first 4 track EP - Deep Enough.

The title track Deep Enough was conceived after a 4 month soul searching mission in India, from the bustling streets of Calcutta to the glistening heights of the Taj Mahal, the fruits of this spiritual awakening echo in the boldness and longevity of the sounds and experience that is Deep Enough. The haunting frosted synth ensnares the mind, the driving bass moves the feet and an eerie vocal line infiltrates the soul, transporting you to a deeper dimension.

Sculpting a mood, an atmosphere and a state of mind the Deep Enough EP also features three retakes of the original, including a remix from Berlin based DJ/producer Massimiliano Pagliara and a rousing retake from Dark with her Kool Thing counterpart and luminary DJ of the Berlin underground, Julie Chance.

The Chance & Dark remix shreds the majority of the vocals for an entrancing and uplifting club remix. The duo balance the dark edge of the song by injecting piano house of the Chicago era and the sensuality of the 90s dreamy cuts with depth and force.

Pagliara’s disco kissed interpretation captures the extra sensory experience of the original, rearranging Dark’s icy wall of melodies and giving the vocals new life and shine. With an insistent octave bass pattern that is impossible to resist, coupled with a tight minimalist beat Massimiliano Pagliara’s remix delivers on the dance-floor and is an archetype of modern tech disco.

The final track is, as the name suggests, a fun and bouncey rework of the single, using glitchy vocals and a cheeky bassline, its infectious vibe gets inside you.

Set for summer greatness, Deep Enough is fixed to impress.

DJ Hell is just about to release his fifth studio album 'ZUKUNFTSMUSIK' and on December 24 you can look forward to a very deep and dark Christmas Eve as he drops the first single from the LP.

'I Want You' is an 11-minute epic that trembles with eerie fervour and the remix, well that gives it an even more menacing makeover. The Hacker is another undisputed pioneer and his remix is exactly what you'd expect from the hallowed Frenchman.

Next up on the docket for Acid Camp Records is a record created by duo John Tejada and Justin Maxwell. The pair came together to make ACR III with two things in mind: Creating sounds that put a smile on their face while possessing as much character as possible. 

The opening track, “I’ve Got Acid (On My Brain)” is a mind-bending wavetable freakout, the likes of which Tejada and Maxwell have been striving to do for years. Using a vintage EMS vocoder to create an original vocal sample, this track is bright, playful, & vivacious. “The Name Rolls In” is layered in an acid playground of sounds. A rhythmic track with a potent 303 bass line, prominent percussion, and that infamous vocoder back at it to create a distinctly groovy track. “Field Notes”, is a composition of celestial arrangements that is completely beatless. Carried through by tiers of sounds, filters, and noisier elements, this track lulls the listener into an alluring sonic dreamscape.

Producer & DJ Mall Grab has announced his new EP ‘How The Dogs Chill, Vol. 1’, on his brand new imprint ‘Looking For Trouble.’  

The new release arrives ahead of Mall Grab’s upcoming ‘Looking For Trouble' tour, including a London headline show on 6th October at E1.

The 25 year old’s latest record follows one of last summer’s biggest house releases - 'Pool Party Music’ on DJ Haus’s ever-excellent Hot Haus Recs, as well as a collaborative EP earlier this year alongside Loods on Steel City Dance Discs, the label he runs with his friends Jarred Kennedy and Jackson Fitzsimmons. Having emerged in 2015 with the infectious ‘Feel U’ EP, the strength and evolution of Jordon’s productions has firmly established him as one of dance music’s most exciting talents.

The new EP arrives in the middle of another busy period for Mall Grab.  Having played well over 100 shows in the last year, he just curated the London event Long Live Southbank - a one off fundraiser party supporting the restoration of Southbank’s hallowed Undercroft skate space, which was streamed by Boiler Room. Having grown up skateboarding the event’s cause was a particularly special one for Jordon. About to embark on his much anticipated ‘Looking For Trouble’ tour throughout September and October and with more shows through November & December in Japan and Australia, Mall Grab will close out 2018 on a high.

Mood Hut’s CZ Wang and Neo Image officially release MH006, a 12-inch that features their long-leaked and celebrated west coast party starter Just Off Wave. Originally recorded in 2014, these tracks sat on ice until they finally passed Claudio’s Cadillac-test™.

Side A’s Just Off Wave throws back to a pioneering moment of Pacific Northwest hip-hop mysticism. It first gained sneaky notoriety as a favourite of local DJs, eventually making it around the world thanks to some—in classic Mood Hut fashion—misplaced CDRs. The track is blessed with the hypnotiq call-and-response vocals of the low-key but legendary Separated At Birth crew —an alias of two Canadian rappers born on the same day. Contract restrictions prohibit us from revealing any more. 

Side B features Open Mic Beat, an ecstatic DJ tool centred around an improvised drum machine traffic jam. This tune got its legs at early Mood Hut parties where it became a natural prompt, encouraging microphone-grabbing party guests to step up and freestyle.

Furious Frank returns to Butter Sessions with 'Ahora Sí'. The fully fledged house anthem is the result of a cross-continental collaboration with Barcelona based vocalist and producer Ivy Barkakati. 

We're treated to four versions of 'Ahora Sí', all tested and ready for the dance floor and those special moments! Kicking it off, Frank delivers his "Original Acid Mix". A deep, squelchy lurker with nods to late 80's and 90's house music, peaking with thick piano chords and Barkakati's deep Spanish vocals. On the 'Sunrise' mix, the piano and chords become the focus and set the mood for an uplifting journey, bolstered by the raw thump and jack of the drum machines. 

The flip side see's Barcelona based "IVAN" emerge with their version. The duo made up of Ivy Barkakati and Phran of Klasse Wrecks fame slow things down a touch, mangle the chords and inject the rhythm with flattering top-drawer percussion. Vancouver native D. Tiffany rounds the EP off with sub-heavy bass drops, hi-tek rhythms, euphoric vocal slithers and more stingin' acidic vibes.
