Our 10th digital release comes courtesy of Budapest's Bal5000.

It's his second EP for the label, the first being the Bleu Infini EP back in 2017(although some stellar tracks of his did appear on the Lost Transmissions compilation which is getting a repress this year and the Invisible Family EP#3).

For those unfamiliar with him, Bal5000 was pretty big on the drum & bass circuit a decade or so ago (known simply as "Bal" back then) but more recently he's been exploring this kind of bass-heavy spaced house and slo-mo acid sound like you'll find here. Kind of reminiscent of I:Cube a little...but you'll find it definitely has its own distinct flavour.

Following hot on the heels of his recent mini-album for Elephant Gait, Italian producer Joseph Tagliabue is back with a full-length album on Glasgow's Invisible, Inc.

With Un' Altra Forma Di Vibrazioni Tagliabue continues to expand on the cosmic foundations laid by such pioneering experimental forefathers as Franco Battiato and his ground-breaking ambient abstract experiments of the '70s and Klaus Schulze whose legendary Innovative Communications label birthed the “Berlin school” sound in the '80s, then tracing a path toward later luminaries like Boards of Canada and Plaid. There's a personal, emotive and ethereal quality also present here conjuring feelings of 4AD's glory years and the likes of This Mortal Coil and Dead Can Dance. However, backwards-looking music this is not. It's fair to say the Milan-based producer is developing his very own distinct sound as he matures from one release to the next and regardless of his wide range of influences, it's Tagliabue's firm grasp of sound design and audio engineering that takes this album far beyond the realm of just “electronica” or “psychedelia” and plants it firmly into a distinctly forward-looking contemporary space of its very own that's as much music for the heart as it is music for the head. 

Tagliabue provides some insight: “Un' Altra Forma Di Vibrazioni (meaning Another Form Of Vibration in Italian) is a concept album inspired by one of the most sensational scientific discoveries of recent years, namely verification of the existence of a phenomenon in our Universe named the "Cosmic Web". The album is comprised of ten tracks, each linked to one another, much like the various forms of matter in the cosmic web, and whose meaning can only be understood by listening to them as a collective whole: a well constructed sonic experience fusing elements of ambient, psych, rock, experimental and trance. Designed to be listened to continuously from start to finish, the album's journey through the universal elements is reflected in each track, whose rhythms resonate in harmony with the phenomena they represent, whilst a backdrop of drones and mesmeric grooves contribute to an atmosphere of otherworldly mechanical oneirism."

Slovenian DJ/producer Marjan Vitorijoski's productions first showed up on our collective radar back in 2019 leading to an appearance on the 1st volume of Dancefloor Detonators on Invisible Inc swiftly followed by an appearance on Curses' Ombra International imprint.  

Three years on and Vitorijoski's sound is even more focussed and refined. His productions more advanced, his roots deeper.  

Expressing a deep passion for ancient Macedonian culture and art, his music often sounds like a bridge between his European homeland and the Orient.  

With an array of hardware and effects processors at his disposal that most producers would be highly envious of, his music also frequently benefits from the inclusion of organic instruments (a theme those familiar with Invisible Inc will be aware of) most notably the Persian daf (a frame drum similar to the Celtic bodhran) which punctuates each song with its hypnotic beat.  

Interspersed with monastic chants that seem to channel the ancestors perfectly, the swirling arpeggiated synths, pulsing bass lines and scything rhythms result in a sonic palette that sounds as rooted in history as it is current. It's also highly hallucinogenic. Close your eyes and you can imagine yourself transported to an ancient Macedonian opium den.  

The three original tracks are complemented by an epic remix from Optimo Music stalwart and Phase Group founder Mr TC who takes the acid and explores the outer limits even further.  

The EP's artwork is based on a pattern from traditional Macedonian costume - originating from a period when opium dens were still very much in existence.

Puma & The Dolphin make a welcome return to Invisible Inc and once again deliver the goods.

This EP has all come together rather quickly. It actually only just got inserted into the release schedule just over a week ago. It was mastered just 5 nights ago and the artwork started 3 days ago...so it's happening fast. This also means no DJ feedback yet....but since sending out some promo yesterday I'm told the opening track "Golden Coast" will be appearing on Optimo's NTS show next week! So it's off to a good start :)

Invisible Inc is proud to present another unique and remarkable release, this time diving even further into ambient, spiritual and folk-infused psychedelia. 

“Mondo Organico”, as the name suggests, is a concept compilation that captures the “organic” side of the label. The use of non-electronic instrumentation is a familiar theme explored previously with the likes of Komodo Kolektif, Immaculate Rivombo and Peter Power...but this time the instruments and voices, tranquil and meditatively hypnotic in places, display an even deeper spirituality. 

Featuring the talents of Andi Otto and his fello (electronic cello), Anna vs June's ethereal vocals, Tyler Ov Gaia's zoned-out mantra rhythms, Pieter Kock's 8-minute bass and guitar psych odyssey, as well as label favourites Sordid Sound System and Puma & The Dolphin, the record is enthralling and mesmerizing from start to finish. You will want to flip it over when you reach the end...and start all over again.

It seemed appropriate to press this album on eco vinyl. Everything from the sleeve and vinyl to the inks themselves are recycled, in an attempt to address some of the environmental issues we face today, albeit fractionally. 

Packaging is 100% carbon neutral and their factory is 99% circular in terms of wastage, recycling and energy usage.

Time, Tone & Texture Two (Side 1)

Invisible Inc once again presents another incredible full-length album from the talented Double Geography. Following on from 2020's “The Indoor Gardener”, the new LP “Open Water” is bathed in a similar blissful atmosphere.

Double Geography aka Duncan Thornley (one half of Weird Weather and studio engineer at MAP Studios), following the success of his debut album had sent Invisible Inc demos of his second and third album, which although excellent in their own way, the label reluctantly declined on the basis that the music didn't quite fit into the spectrum of the label's output. However, this fourth studio album fits the bill perfectly. Leaning towards the label's more ambient and laidback output, the album is themed around water, transience and escape and sounds as unshackled and free-flowing as you'd expect...you can almost feel the breeze in the air and the sun on your skin.

There is a noticeable progression in the music from his previous releases, this time featuring several additional musicians to compliment Thornley's electronics with live instrumentation...adding a complexity and depth to each of these compositions and an overall 'organic' quality that makes these new pieces sound like quite a departure from the first album. Fretless bass, clarinet and saxophone decorate the music with refrains and melodies that have been enchanting our imagination even in their absence since first hearing them.

“I wanted to incorporate some live musicians on this release so called upon some of the talent I'd worked with as an engineer at MAP Studios...that was the main drive behind the music for this release. The tracks are named after things that relate to either leaving behind canal boat living, e.g. Goodbye Great Escape (Great Escape was the name of our boat) or memories from a trip to Hydra, Greece. All sorta water related… On one of our walks around the island we ended up sharing a beach with Pierluigi Collina hence Famous Italian Referee! That track felt like the weirdest of the bunch so it got designated the weirdest name / memory!” (Duncan Thornley, March 2024)

Open Water

Composed back in 2020, these three pieces have lain in waiting in the Invisible vaults ever since, maturing like a fine wine, and now ready to breathe and be consumed by musical connoisseurs the world over. 

Triptych as the title suggests features three tracks, the opening title track being a Triptych in itself; a musical journey that flows continuously through three interconnected sections that elicit three distinct atmospheres as we weave our way through the full 13 beautiful minutes of its length. 

Touch Air, is a rhythmic odyssey, a trance-like production masterpiece for spiritual enrichment. 

Pythagoras in Japan is an ambient trip to the far east. Drifting on a tanpura-like drone the piece floats off to infinity as waves of sound enmesh one another while spoken-word poetry transports us to Pythagoras' final destination.

"All tracks were made around 2020 when I was still living in Berlin. I shared a studio with Marc (Altjira) in Marzahn, an industrial area on the city's outskirts. The building holds around 100 studios, so many musicians are always around. We'd sometimes get together in one of the studios and listen to each other's music. For 'Pythagoras in Japan,' I got help from two of my neighbours. I had made the base of the track but didn't really know how to continue. One of my neighbours suggested adding some spoken word to it, so we browsed YouTube together and immediately found this great poem by Yoko Shibata, which fitted perfectly. My other neighbour played some live synth takes for me. I can still feel the spirit of that night in the song, which gives it extra depth for me." (Sjoerd De Ridder, March 2024)

Triptych EP

If you missed the original Secret Circuit album ("Green Mirror" 2xLP) which came out last year, it's been lauded as Eddie Ruscha's finest work and has been one of the label's best sellers (and some even saying the label's "best release"). 
To mark a year since its release 4 remixers were asked to re-interpret tracks from the album. As one would expect with original source material that ranges from minimal and space-y tech to properly drifting ambience, the pool of remixers (and the resultant remixes) are equally diverse. 
First up is Glasgow-based tropical traveller Kusht who turns the album's opening track "Undenying" into a trippy slo-mo chugfest. This is followed by Khidja's Andrei Rusu who takes on "Light On The Sand" which comes out transformed into a polyrhythmic Steve Reich-ian epic of stuttering synths and tuned percussion. The Froid Dub remix is as dubby and lo-fi as you'd expect from these two French dub-wave geniuses...and closing up is veteran Switzerland-based experimentalist Michal Turtle whose version takes things in a strange but familiarly emotive direction.
Suffice to say, we love them all and hope you do too!

INVINC 33R Secret Circuit - Green Mirror RMXS [clips] OUT 28 June 2024

Following on from last years's "Mondo Organico" compilation, the latest Invisible Inc mini-compilation "Mondo Ritmo", as its title suggests, sets its sights firmly on rhythm and percussion.
Featuring a global array of artists hailing from Argentina to Senegal and everywhere inbetween, the influences and styles on display include latin, afro, dub, dancehall, experimental, acid and more and are guaranteed to expand your mind and move your body.
Initially this EP was intended to be Dancefloor Detonators Vol. 3 but things are fluid at INVINC HQ and the EP seemed to mutate as it grew!
However, lacking in dancefloor killers this EP most certainly is not. Proven and tested dancefloor bombs are Mytron & Balam's opening track "Cabasa Loca" which label boss GK Machine has been spinning at his Wrong Party nights and elsewhere for the last 6 months or so, resulting in track ID requests on several occasions...and the house/dancehall hybrid floor filler "Wicked Can't Run" by LA producer Tom Chasteen (Exist Dance/Dub Club) featuring legendary Jamaican DJ and toaster U Brown, and mixed by equally legendary producer/keyboardist David Harrow who first came to our attention through his regular keyboard contributions to all things On-U Sound related in the 1980s.
The rest of the tracks may not be peak time bangers but they are sure to please the more esoteric and adventurous dancefloors out there....it's an honour to have on board Calypso Records head honcho Thomass Jackson, Thomash (Voodoohop) and Gats (Suçuarana / Curuba) who together as Changa Boys bring in Senegalese drummer Ndiaxo dal Jaam, and finally the little-known Machine and percussionist Congo Caveman.

It’s been a good few years since we've seen a full release from Sordid Sound System aka Stuart Evans on Invisible Inc and the wait is very worth it - it’s a most welcome return.
It's possibly even some of Evans’ best work and so it’s a pleasure to have him back on board the good ship Inc.  
With the ten year anniversary of Invisible Inc coming in May it seems very fitting to include something by Sordid Sound System amongst the flurry of releases coming out in the run-up to that occasion.
Remarkably, this music is even harder to pigeon-hole than usual...even for Stu, who’s known for his raw, analogue, live takes that veer between dub and post-kraut, this is definitely quite "different": part surf acid, part dub, part psych-exotica, part motorik...and that's just the A-side. The B-side leans more towards ambience but of the oddball experimental soundtrack variety...a thoroughly enjoyable ride.

Resonance: 10 Years of Invisible Inc Label Night Part 2: Ravelston (LIVE)

The second volume of Invisible Inc’s 10-year anniversary celebrations has landed, hot on the heels of the scorching first volume.

Where Volume 1 focussed on the dub-style, electronic and ambient side of the label’s output, the second volume leans towards the ‘psych’ side of the label.

As has been a consistent pattern with the label in its decade of existence is its ethos of releasing new and exclusive tracks as well as releasing on vinyl pre-existing tracks that only ever saw the light of day in the digital realm. This compilation is no different. Alongside exclusive new material from Anna vs June, E Ruscha V, Banda Magnética, Exotic Gardens, Kanot and a Coyote remix of Sordid Sound System we also have for the first time on vinyl two tracks by Hena and Futurum that went somewhat under the radar first time round and really deserved to be shared with the wider world.

Hena is Ukrainian producer Volodymyr Gnatenko. I first heard "Nuan" in a mix by Andrea Ida & immediately needed to know what it was. Pure peyote-powered desert music that went under the radar and needed to be heard by more!

"Is It Balearic?" label boss Coyote does the honours and remixes the title track from Sordid Sound System's "Gimme Fever" LP turning it into a hypnotic acid dub mantra.

Swedish duo Kanot are Anton Kolbe (Tross) and Jesper Jarold (Fontän) joining forces to make dreamrock for psychonauts.

Also from Sweden are Futurum who sent me a promo of "Prado" over two years ago. A regular feature in my warm-up DJ sets, it's well overdue it being pressed up on wax!

Exotic Gardens is the alias of Peaking Lights' Aaron Coyes through which he finds a space for acidic experimentation enhanced by live dubstyle mixer operations.

LA-resident Eddie Ruscha, a frequent visitor to the label under his cosmic Secret Circuit alias, appears for the first time under his experimental ambient E Ruscha V moniker.

Banda Magnética is the brainchild of Hugo Capablanca (Discos Capablanca) & Borja Caro (Metametal) offering a mindpuzzler of improvised musique concrète.

Athens-based Anna vs June returns to the fold and closes the proceedings with a song of love, relationships, vulnerability and patience drenched in dreamy electronics.

Resonance: 10 Years of Invisible Inc Label Night Part 3: Dreems

It's not been known for Invisible Inc to reissue music except for the occasional obscure individual track...never an EP or an entire album.

But that unspoken rule has now been broken: Invisible Inc is proud to present the exceptional "Dual Head" by Swedish duo Futurum.

Originally released by Nadaville in 2023, Invisible Inc office boy GK Machine was amongst the lucky few to receive a promo of the album and the opening track "Prado" has been featured in his DJ sets ever since.

At the time the album went somewhat under the radar and it was felt at INVINC HQ that it deserved to be brought to a wider audience and (re)appreciated for what it was: a voyage through a myriad of sonic landscapes. The aforementioned "Prado" is a semi-organic bass-driven groove that resides somewhere between progressive psych and folk funk, oozing with '80s kosmische synth lines and melodies. "Beckholmen Bop" takes us to an entirely different space: a futuristic but sinister and mechanical wasteland in which metal oil cans are beaten by a gang of stray pagan robots. The title track "Dual Head" is an experiment in jazzed-out cyberfunk. "Spoeke" (meaning "Ghost") is a direct doorway into the spirit world!

Their sound, as well as utilising live instruments, is predominantly built around experimenting with digital synthesis: FM, AM and physical modelling.

The duo (Mattias Jonsson and Sæmundur Grettisson) tell us they recorded the album "during a weekend in a small cabin south of Stockholm in the winter of 2021. The beautiful calmness of the surroundings, and eerie late night sounds, like owls screeching, inspired some of the tracks, especially "Spoeke". At some later sessions in Studio Bank in Stockholm, percussionist Philippe "l'Animal" Lassey and drummer Tobias Berving contributed some jazz-funk grooves and afro-cuban elements to the mixture."

The artwork tries to capture the sense of wildness and folklore that the cabin conjures up and which comes through in these recordings.

After appearing on the first instalment of the label's "Resonance: 10 Years of Vibrational Sounds From The Heart of Invisible Inc" compilation, Michal Turtle & HOVE again join forces and make a welcome return to the label.

With this new EP, the duo present four pieces that they recorded together some years ago and which were left to mature whilst they each pursued their individual solo ventures.

In light of their recent (re)appearance it seemed fitting to dig out this unreleased material and give it a much deserved airing.

Alongside Turtle's signature experimental electronics which seem to swing from mystic and otherworldly to fairly oddball, HOVE's guitar work gives these four tracks a unique feel that conjures up a space inhabited by similar luminaries such as Finis Africae and Adrian Sherwood's Playgroup project on one hand, and ambient composers like Gigi Masin and Yasuaki Shimizu on the other.

Clocking in at over 30 minutes the whole listening experience from start to finish is transportive, meditative and entirely fascinating.

Previously only available digitally “Awake Into Life” by 'Peter Power & Friends’ finally sees the light of day on vinyl.

Alongside Peter himself, his “friends” are a bunch of well known and not-so-well known collaborators from around the world: Australia’s Bronze Savage (Aficionado Recordings) and Brazil’s Psilosamples (Desmonta/Octave) to name just two. Originally hailing from the emerald isle of Ireland and settling for a while in Berlin, Peter Power now resides in Bahia, Brazil close to where the world famous and free-wheeling Voodoohop collective sprung its roots on the streets and clubs of Sao Paolo. Peter has been a continuing member of the Voodoohop crew for a couple of years and has toured with them extensively as both musician and performer. Respected as a DJ and a producer his unique world-flavoured brand of electronic music has been released on Multi Culti, Kleine Reise, Crime City, Polychrome Sounds and now Invisible, Inc.

His DJ mixes are eclectic, far reaching, transcendent and at times even ritualistic, infused with a deep, dream-like spirituality which has resulted in him acquiring tens of thousands of followers from around the world all avidly keeping an ear out for his unique slant on the “DJ mix”.

It's been over a decade since Laraaji first joined forces with log(m) in their Canadian studio in early 2007. In those ten years the trio recorded several hours of music. Over time these recordings, the majority starting life as live jams, were polished, dissected, processed, re-arranged and then finely and painstakingly distilled down to the 105 minutes of music that form the basis of this album, which finally reached completion just earlier this year. The wait has been more than worth it. 

The Onrush Of Eternity is a melding of minds like no other. Ever the pioneer of experimental ambience, Laraaji's signature hammered dulcimer, zither, mbira, sruthi drone box and exceedingly positive vibes are here combined with log(m)'s unique vision of gronky hi-tech psychedelic space dub. The resultant voyage into deeply meditative ambience and trance-inducing dub is as unexpected an outcome as it is a bona fide "Eureka" moment. It sounds neither like log(m) OR Laraaji....but of course like both. It is one of those rare collaborations that is, without a doubt, even greater than the sum of its already great parts. 

Log(m) started making waves in the early '90s as Legion Of Green Men with their visually striking 12"s, complete with eternal opuscules (locked grooves) and mathematically inspired titles, all lovingly issued on their own Post Contemporary imprint. These deservedly got the attention of Richie Hawtin who promptly asked the duo for an album on his own classic Plus 8 Records. 20+ years later and the music (much like their name) has morphed into something more sophisticated: even more complex, atmospheric and deeper than ever. 

Laraaji's reputation of course precedes him: he first came to wider attention when Brian Eno released his "Day Of Radiance" as part 3 of his Ambient Series in 1980. Since then, Laraaji has released over 40 albums, yet his stellar path seems still to be on the ascendant - a recent landmark being the 2017 "Sun" series of albums for the wonderful All Saints' Records. 

This unique triple LP in tri-fold sleeve is limited to 200 copies on clear vinyl with green splatter and 300 copies on black vinyl featuring no less than ten of log(m)'s signature vinyl only eternal opuscules and cryptic engravings on all three discs. 

'Barefoot'was given a sneak preview by Andrew Weatherall on his latest NTS Radio show on 9 November.

Very proud to showcase yet another Glasgow-based artist for our second Invisible Inc digital-only release.

As with its predecessor by The Mamba, these releases aim to pack a slightly harder punch than the more psychedelic / cosmic outings the vinyl label is known for.

This time around it's Krokakai aka Kyle Webster at the controls. Some of you may remember Krokakai from our INVINC 17 Cassette compilation in late 2017. 

Ranging from tribal sci-fi rave to new wave electro and then powering onwards to almost industrial sounding slo-mo techno, the machines under Krokakai's control are perfectly tuned for Invisible Inc.'s dark side.

The EP features an amazing extended version of Ardu 1009 which appeared on INVINC 17-CAS that adds an entirely new breakdown complete with distorted (and deranged) saxophone thanks to Jude Thomson that definitely takes the track further than we could have imagined.

However, taking pride of place in pole position is the tribal sci-fi mantra Bodhran Beat: a spoken-word, bleep fuelled, drum-filled odyssey into rhythm and sound that's already been getting praise and plays from Manfredas, Mr TC and Alicia Carrera (Hivern Discs).

The two tracks are complimented on their respective sides by the new wave/synth pop of Mutual Reaction on side A and the hypno-gothic industrial throb of Awaken on the B

So, finally we gave in to popular demand. With the booming interest in the digital-only tracks which we put out this year and the subsequent demand to have some of them on vinyl, it was decided at INVINC HQ to press up the most requested of these on nice shiny discs and package them in one of our nicely designed sleeves. Just for you. 

To compliment the widely acclaimed 'Bodhran Beat' by Krokakai and 'Trails' by The Mamba, we are proud to feature here Cantillate from the Netherlands whose album "Machines For Emotions" made waves in June and whose previous EPs have had support from Mr TC, Identified Patient, Gamma Intel and more. His slo-mo, sci-fi, tribal techno chugger 'Dust To Dust' is a mesmerising scream from the depths of the psychic abyss. Hailing from Ljubljana in Slovenia, Vitorijoski's 'The Voice Of Bárbaros' with its eastern turbo-gallop instantly reminded us of Simple Symmetry, Mehmet Aslan or something we'd hear on the great Disco Halal. We absolutely HAD TO squeeze it on here, no questions asked. And of course Krokakai and The Mamba you will know from the first two digital-only releases. Both of these tracks have had a huge interest from fans of the label and are the reason Dancefloor Detonators came about in the first place. DJs who have played one or both of these tracks include Andrew Weatherall, Thomas Von Party, Bufi, Cosmo Vitelli, Joakim, DJ Sofa, Ivan Smagghe, Nathan Gregory Wilkins, Vladimir Ivkovic, Myako and more.

Cape Perpetua is a thing of beauty.

Sordid Sound System has taken his unique, raw, dub-infused sonic vision to a new level. With 'Cape Perpetua' we travel dem spaceways to a place that seems to grow more beautiful by the second; a textured, melodic, blissful interplanetary landscape where further words fail. From here Sascha Funke manages to take the controls and steer the mission on a futuristic space odyssey that's as urgent as it is blissful. Faint background signals of the original remain but are violently ejected from the airlock by the most synthetic, syncopated sounds the human ear has ever been exposed to. Flip over and we're straight into 'It's About Time'. This one is equally high octane ..... but this time of the afro-tinted psychedelic surf punk variety. If you aren't dancing to this you're probably dead. No rest for the wicked, however....because before we manage to get our precise bearings and a firm grasp of what just happened the acid techno space rock of 'Pneumonia Gulch' kicks in and takes us to places Hawkwind could only have dreamed of. Respite soon follows when the seductive voice of Eva Geist transports us to yet another beautiful paradise. Slowly it dawns on us that we're now in a dimension elsewhere entirely. Mind boggling. Nothing comes close. If you were to take a cockatil of mandrake, opium, LSD, ecstasy and a variety of amphetamines in the company of the heavenly host, the cosmic machine elves and a group of your best human friends with access to every instrument you ever wanted you would only know the half of it. This takes a very twisted, talented, mystic mind to come up with. I'm sure of it.

Let's open the doors to a whole new world.

A new world where the bastard love child of Tangerine Dream, Hardfloor, Sun Ra and The Gun Club rules supreme.

V Is For Vision

INVINC 25 LP 'V Is For Vision' compilation [samples]

There is definitely something "afro" inspired about this latest EP from Puma & The Dolphin, certainly in comparison to pretty much everything else the mysterious Bulgarian project has produced, including a great EP for Canadian imprint Chambre Noire and some stellar inclusions on every one of Dj soFa's highly respected "Elsewhere" compilations. 

The story goes that while immersed in domestic life during lockdown in Sofia the music evolved to take in what was happening at home and saw the inclusion of toy instruments, drum playing, the voices of children playing and even the family parrots whistling and squawking in the background. These random ambient insertions when seen in the context of the hypnotic and percussive rhythms and timbres are oddly reminiscent of the late, great Francis Bebey who, although culturally and physically a million miles removed, was also known for recording much of his work at home and who also featured the voices of his children playing. 

In fact, it is as much the music's playfulness and simplicity that give the pieces their distinctive character, at times echoing the repetition and mesmerism of Raymond Scott's "Soothing Sounds For Baby" series. Yet, childrens' music this is not. There is a mysticism and depth on one hand and a willingness to experiment on the other that echoes the pioneering experimentalist K. Leimer's early Eno-inspired tape outings (check "Supermarket" for example). 

I asked Puma & The Dolphin's Nikko Names if he could share the story behind how these six tracks came together. He had this to say: 

"This collection of pieces were created during a monotone period of my life which I have overlaid with colour: a time in which I surrender to the beauty of home life - watching my kids play, feeding the birds - entwining these sounds of my surroundings amongst the rhythmic layers of these pieces. Playing the drums to remind us of the next circle dance for four. There is something mystic to travel only in your head; a shamanic trip inside the body with no concepts and answers."

Three years in the making only to be held up almost another year due to COVID and now finally seeing the light of day, is this brooding monster of a record by Brussels based Strapontin, aka multi-disciplinary artist Patrick Belmont.

Clocking in at over 35-minutes the record is almost album length and spans a multitude of depths and moods with elements of techno, new wave, rock 'n' roll, house and tribal…...all glued together with a uniquely sleazy atmosphere.

Add to this a heads-down-no-nonsense darkroom beast of a remix by techno maestro Sascha Funke and the package is complete.

Strapontin provides us with some insight:
“It started with a desire to move away a bit from my 'dancefloor' side and go into more undefined fields, I wanted to work with blurry sensations that I can't understand. I like mixed feelings. Dramatex 300 is made of that ambivalent mood. The voice is saying 'I'm feeling empty' and 'I'm feeling healthy' at the same time. I like that paradox. Eunuque is a song but is also a character I will develop in a short movie (which will act as the 'music video' of the song). The Eunuque is a character full of anger yet he doesn't want to fight nor has he a target to aim at. A restrained aggressivity is boiling inside him/it that has no opportunity to escape from the body and gain release. The song is the fever he feels from these inner battles. I think Le Bain d'Huile and Anti-sceptical have the same slow and angry feeling. I'm proud of these tracks because they are a bit mysterious to me and it feels like they controlled me more than I controlled them.”
