Sempy discovered the sounds of drum n bass at the ripe age of 15. Inspired by the early sounds of Calyx, Rascal & Klone and the Moving Shadow label. By the time he reached the age of 18, he began to seek out Drum N Bass events. It was from that point on he knew what he wanted to do for the rest of his life! Fast forward to 2008 and Sempy played his first set at Beat Mash the 4 x Award winning weekly night, with the Inhibit Crew In which he now holds a residency with, playing at many clubs such as Shape, Bar Open, Villa, Rosemount and the the Legendary Metros City Night club. Earning a reputation for his high energy dancefloor tech/neurostep sets, flawless 3 deck mixing and the ability to put on a show you can garuntee that your dancefloor will be heaving when Sempy is on the decks. In 2010 Sempy embarked on his first international bookings playing at the Paradise In Bali Festival in Indonesia & Phat 11 NYE Festival in New Zealand. He has easily become a favourite amongst punters in which in 2011 he was voted as one of Perths Best Drum & Bass DJ's at the 2011 Perth Dance Music Awards (PDMA'S). He has also graced the decks in support of many international artists such as Andy C, DJ Fresh, Dieselboy, Mampi Swift,Concord Dawn, Break, Audio, Evol intent, Ed Rush & Optical, The Upbeats, Cause 4 Concern, Dirty Phonics,Cyantific, Wilkinson, Delta Heavy, ShockOne, Raiden, Black Sun Empire, Camo & Krooked, Dose, Digital, Calyx & TeeBee, Phace, Loadstar and many others. As of recent he has started a new production duo called VOLTRON (with Conxept) 2012 sees Sempy hitting the studio heavily and continuing to push his efforts in production and branch out into other genre's such as Electro, Breaks & Dub-Step. VLTRN is a collaborative duo born and bred in Perth’s thriving drum & bass scene. Known for their explosive DJ sets, ‘Riot Mix’ series and international releases, the pair are certainly one to watch.

With both members being established and respected DJs in their own right, having supported almost every international artist to tour Australia over the years, the early days of their joint project rewarded them with back-to-back Perth Dance Music Awards for Best Drum & Bass DJ.

Sharing the same influences and musical direction, it was only natural that these long-time friends turn their attention to production. With their first release on Hypnosis Recordings hitting the Beatport Top 10, the duo knew they were onto something. They followed up with a progression of their sound, releasing ‘Dirt Signal / The Ride’ on the legendary Formation Records UK.

With forthcoming fruits of their labour including debut releases on renowned labels Close2Death Recordings 'Insane / Introvert’ and Good Karma Music 'MF’, there's no doubt the VLTRN machine has an exciting future.
