Sometimes life just isn't fair. I only met Amber Luthien a couple of times but was deeply impressed by her boldness and bravery. She really pushed to assert who she was and I deeply admired and respected her for that. She seemed so fiery and possessing a real fighting spirit which is why it's so devastating that it got too much for her. Amber will remain an inspiration to me and a reminder about why the struggle for equality is so important. We need to ash the kinds of homophobia and transphobic attitudes that make the lives of such beautiful people such a struggle. It's such a shame that Amber couldn't find her way in the world, but her struggle will always remain an absolute inspiration to me. My heart goes out to all those who cared about her. She will be remembered for her fighting spirit and determination.
