In only a short period of time, Ultramajic has proved itself to be a reliable source of modern house and techno with a unique overarching aesthetic that makes it stand out like a neon beacon in the endless sea of dance labels operating today.

This release - the label's ninth - marks an important step in its history: the premiere of a totally new, formerly unknown artist who goes by the name of Chambray. It only takes a few seconds of listening to any of the four tracks presented here to see why he's been initiated into the Ultramajic stable - he turns out some uproarious, vintage-touched house with considerable bass heft that would do Chicago-style veterans like Steve Poindexter proud while showing off more modern house styles that have become touchstones of Ultramajic-affiliated DJs and producers like Aden and Jimmy Edgar himself. To simplify: put these on in a club, watch it go boom. 

Ultramajic continues to blaze its own distinct path through the world of electronic music in 2014, and here Chambray has proved himself to be a valuable recruit - capable of churning out total burners that have a classic vibe to them with a modern bite and ruggedness.

Through their label Oblack, Los Pastores have chosen a selection of their favourite artists and introduce them here, in one extraordinary set, as ‘Oblack Compilation Vol.I’. What better way to celebrate the first steps of a great debut in the field of electronic music both in the charts at home and abroad, than to offer up a soundsnack which defines both the originality and the musical imagination of exactly what these two DJs and producers from Valencia are all about, reaching far into the infinite and even beyond.

Musical talent, both national and international, like Wender A. & Rods Novaes, Alessan Main & Cihan Mareno, kpd, Umootive & B-NY, Fatalino Giuseppe, Iban Reus & Paul Ursin, Jules & Moss, Larry Peters & Von Georgi, Mario Liberti & David Zafra and, of course, the very own Los Pastores are the main protagonists of this compilation where the common denominator is, as it has to be, House. The freestyle interpretation of this musical genre, born in Chicago, by a cast of artists drawn from very different backgrounds and sound cultures, is perhaps the main attraction of this bright compilation, where there is definitely room to dance, dream and even look back and reflect on the past, present and future of house music itself. 

Here we find the profound elegance and club-friendly style of Larry Peters and Von Georgi; the vibrantly metallic dancefloor tech-house of Wender A. and Rods Novaes; the deconstructed, slow motion underground style of Alessan Main and Cihan Mareno; the finely tuned electro-house ravings of kpd, Umootive and B-NY; the torrid, latin electro-house of Fatalino Guisseppe; the addictive tech-house-disco style of Iban Reus &Paul Ursin; the well-mannered early evening house of Jules & Moss; the tech-club effervescent, contagious and trotter of Mario Liberti & David Zafra and that great track by Los Pastores called ‘Origenes’, which is, as the title suggests, an intelligent and subtle tribute to the hedonistic early days of house music, concocted by those grand masters of the genre during the 80s and 90s. Through the work of this eclectic bunch of artists, house music reaches a new dimension and is dispersed amongst those who love the dancefloor and to dance, while at the same time reaching deep down into the belly of the soul.

Qué mejor forma de celebrar los primeros pasos de un gran debut -en las lides discográficas electrónicas oriundas y foráneas- que sustanciando un piscolabis que define de forma certera vs. ecléctica el imaginario musical que desde Oblack nos ofrece esta pareja de djs y productores valencianos desde el infinito y hasta el más allá.

Entre la elegancia deepera y clubby de Larry Peters & Von Georgi; el vibrante tech-house metalizado y pistero de Wender A. y Rods Novaes; el house deconstruído, ralentizado y underground de Alessan Main y Cihan Mareno; los afinados devaneos houssie-electrosos de kpd, Umootive & B-NY; el house electrónico, tórrido y latino de Fatalino Guisseppe; el tech-house-disco adictivo y efervescente de Iban Reus & Paul Ursin; el house vespertino, electrónico y bien atemperado de Jules & Moss; el tech-club efervescente, contagioso y trotón de Mario Liberti & David Zafra  y ese temazo llamado “Origenes” que rubrican Los Pastores y que es, como bien reza su título, un tributo indirecto y sesudo a ese house primigenio, original y hedonista, por los cuatro costados, que los grandes maestros del estilo pergeñaron durante los años 80 y 90 y que ahora, a través de artistas como los que nos ocupan, logra una nueva y necesaria dimensión -y difusión- tanto en las pistas de baile como en el doble fondo del alma de todos los que amamos bailar.

20 years ago the track "unfuture", release on sven väth`s imprint eye q, marked a milestone in technoproductions with it ́s uncompromising style and sound, delivering a view on techno which was revolutionary at that time: stripped down to only a couple of sounds in general, the track had an impact on dancefloors as not often seen before in those trance-dominated times - and still has! alex grabbed the vinyl out of his vinyl-collection after years, did an edit for his own, sent it to pascal feos who produced the original back then and who really liked this edit and the idea in general, and so alex decided to start a remixproject on this pure classic track with young, but also established artists who were not afraid of taking the adventure to remix a track that actually consists of nothing more than a distorted kickdrum, a really monotone off-beat organ sound and an oldschool acidline. after the first part with amazing mixes by mark broom and subjected it ́s now time for alex himself to lay hands on one of his alltime classics, staying really close to the original version, and for the flipside he invited two of europe`s most promising talents of classic techno, mr. raffaele attanasio from naples as well as mr. yan cook from kiew, to treat the few, but impressive samples. one more time true and high class recycling on credo to save our planet from bad music!
