“Who am I?” Such was the question that echoed through the armored being’s head as electrical impulses fired over circuitry in place of synapses. The memories that the brain possessed were his own , of this the warrior was sure, but the body that possessed the brain? The flesh that had once born the scars of myriad battles upon its surface was now eerily smooth. His bones, once worn down by the blows of time and swords alike, no longer ached under the weight of his wrought iron armor. Indeed, it was as though his armor had fused to his body, for even with the return of his youthful strength he could not even lift the helm from his head. He thought back and moved forwards, wading through his memories as though caught in the mire of battle, reliving both triumphs and humiliating defeat. He had lead many, and even his enemies had viewed him with a sense of begrudging respect, this he remembered. So too did he remember then the day that had ended, when an enemy blade had found purchase within the thin gap between his helmet and chest piece, separating his head from his body in a mere moment. He remembered the horror, then the peace, and then… nothing more. Yet here he stood, upon the same spot he had fallen, revenant and remembering. Wildflowers grew where once had been the bodies of his fallen soldiers, and indeed the battlefield upon which he had last strode seemed to be naught but a peaceful meadow before him. He had once been a HERO, this he knew, but as for what he was now? He knew not the truth.

EATBRAIN heavyweight L 33 returns triumphant to lead the label’s horde to the rhythm of his latest EP, HERO. Within, L 33’s sonic bravado reigns supreme as he delivers an audio assault marked by the furious arrangements for which he is best known. HERO thus stands as an apt name for both the EP and the artist himself as one of the most experienced champions among EATBRAIN’s storied roster.

The mists of the ancient grotto lay heavy upon the vale within, their tendrils cloaking and seeping around the outlines of vague shapes illuminated by what little light reached this place. Far flung trees, jagged boulders, and shards of ice littered the area, but within the depths of the mist lay something far less natural. A legend forgotten to time & magically bound to this place had begun to stir, called to action as the faintest rays of the sun scattered upon its rough worn hide.

An armory’s worth of weapons glinted in that glow, spear, swords, and more exotic blades alike embedded into a behemoth with the long memory of the warriors that had attempted to do it harm. Little more than toothpicks to the colossus, the weapons of the little people stung more with the audacity of their wielders than with the bite of the blade itself. It remembered long ago, for it had slept a kalpic length, that insolent mob that had rose against it only to be crushed beneath its hulking form. The descendents of those ingrates might still live, the monster reasoned, and so resolving it began to rise from its place of rest. It towered above the grotto walls, shaking loose the stone of their construction as it strode forth from the mists, regaining its strength amidst the light of day. No challenger would be tolerated, and no tribute would be enough, for the beast sought sole and absolute domination over the land once again, as it had many thousands of years before. This was how it had always been, and this was how it would be again. This was the way of the YOKAI.

SCREAMARTS make his EATBRAIN debut with YOKAI, a four track EP that follows in the wake of his collaboration with EATBRAIN heavyweight AKOV on the label earlier this year. With YOKAI, SCREAMARTS deliver an EP tied together by melodic and rhythmic themes that are presented in quadruple variation, spanning the range from strutting drum focused sequences to sonic atmospheres rendered through exacting & experimental sound design whilst each maintaining the ability to make an impact on the dancefloor. With YOKAI, SCREAMARTS thus present a new kind audio monstrosity to the EATBRAIN horde, leading them into new horizons for their first EP on the label.

The year 2021 is about to end. 2022 is about to start. Perkussiv delivers with its next release 'MTGA EP' by Absurd [PERK-DNB027] a worthy musical companion for NYE.

As a long time Perkussiv member, Absurd finally strikes back in his 'MTGA EP' and shows his brilliant, ingenious talent for Techno-driven DnB. C.A.2K - longtime Perkussiv member as well - gave him and us the honour to serve two smashing, dancefloor-banger remixes.
On the A-side with 'MTGA', Absurd wrote maybe one of the best tracks in his life. The overall mood beautifully reflects his deep soul hailing from Sibiria: mystic, melancholic, almost nostalgic, but still prospective. The distinct trademark leadsound in 'MTGA' is just heart-warming and could be described as a 'string of the soul'. It perfectly merges with the fast paced, convoluted, ghost-kick driven beat and the outstanding subtle midrange-bass.
TL;DR: MTGA is pure goosebumps all over and really 'Makes Technoid Great Again'!
With 'Krakoin' on the B-side, we can get to know the true promise of how wide-ranged Absurd's musical skills are. 'Krakoin' is a blatant, but yet subtle stepper with heavy basswork, wonderful bleepy leadsounds and strings. It is pleasantly cleaned up, straight to the point and a perfect tune to mix. 'Krakoin' is just a masterpiece on its own. 
C.A.2K is known for making no compromises and getting straight to the point. On the C-side he shows his very own interpretation of MTGA: Smashing Snare, distorted sounds and a dancefloor killer. He took the main-lead sound of MTGA and embedded it in a classic Drum and Bass stepper. On the D-side C.A.2K takes Krakoin's bleeby leadsounds and twists them to a whole different level. Characteristically, C.A.2K transforms Krakoin to a blatant party smasher as well.

This release shows that Techno-DnB was never dead. We need more unique artists like Absurd to 'Make Technoid (Even) Great(er) Again'. Perkussiv Music is just one small piece of a puzzle, but it will never stop pushing deep-hearted driven music. Luckily we see a Techno-DnB-rise again.

Thank you Evgeniy for giving one of your best tunes ever made, MTGA, to Perkussiv Music. It is an honour to have that masterpiece in the collection and that it helps shaping the Perkussiv brand even more.

The sounds of the all knowing machines becoming sentient bubbles away under the distorted vocal samples as huge bass hits pound at your reasoning, leading you seductively into the techno acid line bass wobbles and criiiiiisp snares to get ya neck breakin'. A tune that's constantly threatening to implode under its own weight and intensity.

90s vibes atmosphere and drums set the scene for a low pitched vocal sample which then explodes into a truly alien lead line on the drop, a sound like tentacles engulfing your brain, analysing and feeding. The whole thing thunders along on a paranoiac wave, schizophrenic and angry...

Starting off with eerie old school pads and some golden era jungle breaks this primordial beast slowly evolves into a throbbing tech workout with some glorious reece snarls contorting around punchy as fuck drums. Relentless in its execution, it kills as it thrills.


State of Emergency

Alarms ring out as emergency procedures are implemented. A high energy build up filters away to a single repeating voice before a tsunami of chunky drums and heavily distorted bass tears its way through, shifting and mutating as it goes, with a low end frenzy that sounds like monsters at war.
