In Session #7 Pitch Athens is hosting Powehi for a mix that follows the journey of a traveller from the future who lands in a tribal world. It blends deep, slow rhythms and ambient sounds. The music moves between something ancient and something mysterious, creating a feeling that’s both earthy and futuristic.

Ioanna started playing electronic music for a year now. She goes by the name Powehi, inspired by the first photographed black hole. Her music blends deep, atmospheric sounds with slow rhythms, influenced by her love for space, nature, and the feeling of getting lost in sound.


Pitch Listening Sessions feat. Powehi w/ Pitch Athens (28.03.2025)

For my new show, I will be diving in a shoreless sonic continuum. 
Once every two months I&amp#39;ll be on my own, trying to draw connections between genres, eras, intentions, or even feelings, to emphasize what appears to me as logical relations between sounds. From &ampquot;Gorillaz-type beats&ampquot; to Torchouze Disco, I&amp#39;ll try to suggest a sensitive approach to mixing.
Every other months, I will be joined by friends and foes from around the continuum, to get their perspective on how they approach and deal with their own sensitive listening.

"To transform the structured art of “music” into ambiguous particles of memory and space.
It is neither “story” nor “emotion”. It is the sensation of fragments, the memory of reverberations, the minute tremors of the unconscious. In other words, I want to present as a work of art the very sensation of “a faint blur in the silence. Time is not a line but a layer, melody is not will but an accidental stain, and “to listen” is not to enter into the sound but to be blurred by the sound."
