The online radio station Retreat Radio has acted as a unifying force on the underground scene in Malmö for close to a decade and now offers its first compilation of original music from its vast community.

A community grown exponentially like a virus, with Retreat Radio as the source of infection, comprised of artists in various stages of despair revelling in hazy ambient, angular industrial rhythms and post-dub influences. Now bringing you 24 tracks of frog-induced head music made for a sad generation that wanted to be club kids but had no club to go to.

Many - if not all - of the names behind this mammoth of a compilation are Retreat residents with current or past monthly shows on the programme. Many of whom have walked the stark lit street at the outskirts of town at night to climb a spiral staircase above a carwash to play their shows.

Loosely centered around the interpretation of dub as a genre, the compilation hand-picks a curation of tracks which nonetheless point to a coherent vision: that of dub as a vital cornerstone in the development of new music reflecting on an urban post-capitalist environment.

Peregrination est une incantation rituelle, une quête mystique orchestrée par Drawbridge. À la croisée des chemins entre transe tribale et techno incantatoire, cet EP invoque l’énergie des forêts anciennes et des créatures oubliées. Tambours battants, textures enchantées et pulsations gobelines façonnent un monde où la danse devient rite. Cette traversée musicale est le résultat d’une intention claire, façonnée avec une exigence quasi alchimique. Deux remixes prolongent l’exploration avec Blume qui propose une version hypnotique et vaporeuse, tandis que Forest révèle une face plus incandescente et tellurique. Peregrination is a ritual incantation, a mystical quest orchestrated by Drawbridge. At the crossroads between tribal trance and incantatory techno, this EP invokes the energy of ancient forests and forgotten creatures. Beating drums, enchanted textures and goblin pulses shape a world where dance becomes ceremony. This musical adventure is the result of a clear intention, crafted with an alchemical precision. Two remixes extend the exploration with Blume offering a hypnotic and steamy version, while Forest reveals a more incandescent and telluric aspect. An initiation journey for those ready to cross the threshold.

No distance without presence. No melancholy without warmth. On Me, With You, @jonnnah – aka Lyon-based producer Pierre Paumier – unspools seven textured sketches of memory, perception, and desire. Drawing from the bubbling undercurrents of trip-hop revival, he crafts grooves that don’t demand attention but earn it slowly – through rhythmic asymmetry, warm bass blooms, and momentary flashes of clarity.
