The keyboard riff started it all ~ this one has been the track on which I have kept trying and trying to realize my vision for it.  As I learned more, I kept going back to it.  I recently watched a video on Slate's Academy website showing Chris-Lord Alge mixing a track and his approach to drums is very minimalist - odd because he is known for a huge drum sound.  Just EQ and light compression.  I went back to this track a stripped all the processing I had applied, which was a lot, and reworked it with his approach.  

All leads are comp'd from six takes.  the opening riff just fell out the sky.  Could never reproduce it.  Synths are sounds from my Alesis Quadrasynth - an oldie now, but a goodie.  Bass line as well.  Sidechaining with the kick really helped give the bass some movement.

This a few months after the Halloween Party already posted. Raw and bold - the way rock should be...no beyond perfect production here. All warts included for your viewing pleasure ;) A few months playing four nights a week in bars had tightened things up and we had added a few tunes to the list. Note the first couple tracks...well, the sound guy was a friend, not a professional. Good brother none the less...it gets better as the night progresses. Also note these tracks were culled from a 35 year old cassette tape recorded from the first row of tables. The dancers affect the sound on a few tunes. Cheers!!

This track was inspired by a jam track Tim Collins had recorded on his Boss jam/drum machine.  The initial riff and breakdown ideas were there.  I added chord changes and the solo section.  Great to work with my long lost brother again (see the description for the CHASE Halloween Party tracks for further info).
