On this episode Matt is joined by musician Daniel Merrill, also known as A Path Untold. APU is the ever-expanding musical vision that electronic composer & producer Daniel has been steadily crafting for years, resulting in a unique style that fuses elements from organic slow-house, future garage, downtempo, breakbeat and a variety of otherworldly flavors. Daniel is an accomplished artist with a 20+ year track record of creating, releasing and performing his original work under a variety of monikers. As the first musical artist on internationally prominent art collective The Chambers Project, Daniel has recently released his 3rd full length A Path Untold album, "Sourcery" to widespread acclaim. Additionally, he is a music instructor and certified creativity coach.

During the conversation the two discuss the effects of various psychedelics, and their influence on their respective creative paths. Daniel also shares the origin story of A Path Untold, from his early musical influences, to the purpose embedded into his moniker, plus much more.

Gathering with my dance community in such honour and humbleness to be able to share my inspirations with such a rich tribe of special humans. We spoke of the veils thinning, and our earthwalk, giving gratitude to all those who came before us and everything they endured for us to be here together in these moments. 

A little gem of how one can say hello to another, is to imagine their ancestral line alllll the way back to the beginning and all the pathways trials, and triumphs it took for them to arrive here in front of you in this moment. Imagine that and then say "hello" from that place. Feels different. 

This evening we brought chocolate, flowers, and wrote notes for and to our ancestors to add to the cauldron before and as we danced. We talked for a moment about how we can honour those who came before us by being as beautiful as we can be. When we dance, we dance with them in our hearts, and for them as we are now the ones with feet on the earth. For me this helps me remember who I am, and that my dance isnt to impress anyone but to honour those who gave us life and to show them that we are truly living it in the best way we know how! From this place much fun is to be had, and there is much to celebrate. We are alive. Thankyou for this life. Thankyou Momma and Papa and all those who came before you to bring us all here together. Such a gift. Happy Samhain everyone, or Witches New Year or however you align with this special time of year.

Mindspring Music presents: Garden Of Symbiosis, an eclectic mix of beautiful tracks, compiled by Entangled Mind. The push and pull between waking life and the dream world come to life in this beautifully compiled release with a mixture of psychedelic vibes physically intertwined with a touch of broken beats, jazzy vibes, world-ethnic rhythms and chillout, holding together the symbiotic nature of reality and the dream world.

From the depths of fertile psychedelic soil springs forth a delectable sonic adventure. Step into the Garden of Symbiosis as we explore and experience the array of sounds.

At the gateway of our garden, we have Arcturus setting the mood with the funky melodic tune Tossing Pebbles, a perfect anthem for stirring up the serene waters of a pond, awaiting what happens next.

Things get even more mysterious as Darklord Gob hits us with a funky, squishy tune called Callisto, setting a nice dubby foundation of mystery and intrigue as we head deeper into the garden.

Continuing our journey through the dubby end of the garden, the beauty of our sonic surroundings come alive as we sway gently along to the magic of the uplifting, earthy, positive vibes of Panda On The Bamboo Tree's joint called Hickey Hipster Dub. 

Picking up our pace a bit, we find ourselves paying close attention to our surroundings and we skip playfully though DeathMomenT' Current Understanding, an ethno-conscious downtempo tune that is symbiotically mysterious and uplifting. 

Stepping off the path into a shaded canopy of large trees, we are suddenly surrounded with a buzzing flurry of wildlife, frolicking about in a frantic manner. Gleekch provides us the perfect backdrop to the scene with Can not wake up that early, a frantic progressive tune with a shift in energy that peaks with some funky drum'n'bass. 

The spectacular display of frenzied energy is concluded just as fast as it began and the discovery of a serene pond is just what we need to recuperate and reflect. Øhmar provides us with a much needed groovy chillout tune, Above Duality, to help us relax and catch our breath.

Off on the distance we hear the ever-increasing beckoning of Arcturus' return to the garden. This time, teaming up with Faelow, we give in to the intriguing sounds of Viridus, a melodic, groovy chillout tune.

Feeling quite refreshed, we depart from Arcturus and Faelow and meet up with Slaycub who inspires us to make a run for it, to take all that we have felt in the garden and move forward with the positive intention of integration. Epigenesis is an uplifting and beautiful backdrop to inspire us to do just that.

Catching our breath, in the distance, we see the exit of the garden. Our journey, though coming to a close, settles with a symbiotic merging of our waking life and reality. Vallou provides us with the perfect soundtrack as we depart from the Garden of Symbiosis, in balance with our new reality.

Presenting the debut Outtallectuals EP from the Le Comte Champêtre project by French musician, Pacôme Nivon; ‘Ephemerides’ is a 5-track journey representing the change and characteristics of seasons which is being released on the Winter Solstice. The EP starts with ‘Iarnă’ to signify the winter, taking inspiration from Romanian communist music, with the participation of Lea Clement on the violin. 

‘Por El Rio Va’ is inspired by Gamelean Indonesian music, and takes place between winter and spring to represent the melting of ice running down the mountains.The jazzy tones of ‘Vorvakning’ symbolise the jubilance of natural renewal with upbeat concepts, while the warmer Balkan / Middle Eastern tones of Alsayf take us into the summer heat. Certain motifs in Alsayf are inspired by El Hilwa Di, a composition by the music of Palestinian artist, Ramzi Aburedwan.

The EP closes with Hovvi Mazurkan which returns the saudade of shortening days in Autumn, utilising a 7/4 edition of a mazurka groove, settling the album back to the origins of its cycle.
