OYASABA, the Flatbush Sound is the post-genre band led by Rhasaan Oyasaba Manning, born, raised, and presently residing in Flatbush, Brooklyn, NY, USA. The sound is timeless: electronica, phat beats, dubby bass lines, jangly guitars, psychedelica and disquieting vocals, melodic and staccato, pop formats and endless groove approaches throughout. The material is duality, inversion, self-destruction and the struggle for freedom. The point is not to point the finger of judgment, but to open the fist which suffocates the wisdom of the heart.
