La Sovata is one of the classics of Romanian electronic dance music. It was released around 1997, although the project Cindy Cat was no longer active at that time.

Simple lyrics, nothing sophisticated, but with a very well placed sound with breakbeat and techno elements, pretty club like which easy caught the attention of the general audience, not only the young and just emerged electronic music audience. Even our parents remember with joy the lyrics “at Sovata where Nicu is doing his military service”.

No electronic music labels were in the 90s in Romania, La Sovata was brought to public by a television post which had the coolest interactive live tv show with artists and public, Generatia Pro, which also is the name of the only compilation (on cassette tape) which features La Sovata.

We have here the 1st remix in almost 30 years since the original track was released. New sound with a punchy kick, synth bass, house percussion, but keeping the entire voice and sampling the synth chords of the original, a true gem of post-Decembrist electronic music history in Romania.
