Douglas Murphy has been erroneously described as a 'sound artist' (the Times) and a 'composer' (ArtInfo), but is actually neither of those things. He mostly writes books about architecture, but is an amateur guitarist who has on past occasions created sound art and composed music for various people. Ten years ago he played jazz in cafes and clubs in Glasgow, nowadays he plays classical music in his London flat. On this page he posts up recordings of his own transcriptions and idle compositions that he gets around to.
