Story behind the song:
This recording was made with the utmost care during the pandemic. At the time we were making a beautiful program to share in the theaters. It was cancelled three times. We finally shared it with our audience in april 2022 on International Jazz Day in Theater Santbergen in Hilversum, The Netherlands. Completely sold out. The program was performed by the outstanding band mentioned above. Gijs de Later was replaced by the young and also very talented Charlie Philips. Other young talents that were able to join us: Jaïnda Buiter, Gwen Kaihatu and Teun Los. They joined me in several vocal arrangements I made for the show. Among them the backing vocals for There will never be another you with leadvocals by our Dutch Grand Lady of Jazz Greetje Kauffeld. Philip Kurstjens played the guitarparts.
