Bobby Konders is a Brooklyn-native who made his name spinning reggae and Carribbean music for Hot 97, as well as starting his own dancehall/reggae label Massive B in 1991. Konder continues to go strong as a riddim DJ, but in his early years he also managed to produce some incredibly fine house records. This particular release was released on the revolutionary NYC electronic dance label Nu Groove in 1990. Our personal favorite track is "The Poem," but what is so great about this EP is the diversity and quality of each song. Deep house, acid, dub, straight jacking house - all represented in top form!

sorry it's been awhile since i posted any new music, school's been getting in the way of things recently.
however, i'm back, with a new song, "Violet City"!
the song was inspired by a dream i had about a corrupt city. this is what i think you'd hear first going into Violet City: screams and yells in a frantic environment, where everyone is paranoid.

West 57th St: Disco In NYC With Prelude Records

When LA label Acid Test decided to start the leftfield imprint, Avenue 66, they looked to New Jersey house mystic Joey Anderson for an opening salvo. He delivered the modern psych-dance masterpiece "Above The Cherry Moon." Now Anderson's back again with more of his beguiling dreamlogic. On "If One Cares, They Act Different" Anderson works with a lead that could score an unsettling '80s horror flick, eventually introducing his signature quicksilver synths and abstract, jacking drum patterns. "Peace There" starts with the square-wave basslines and raspy hats Taking us to a psychedelic far away place.  On "The Vase”, Anderson reins things in, but even his bittersweet, relatively straight-head deep house tracks present an odd paradox. His music so alien and human all at once.
