This years sound system at Celtic Chaos was insane. 
Earlier in the week, Sunday or Monday, Genevieve and I went out for a ride deep playa to check out some art being built. On our way back all we could hear was one system BUMPING in the distance, we followed the sound all the way to 10&C. 
Realizing it was Celtic, I instantly became that much more excited to rock that system for my last set of the week!

The dj booth at CC looks out at the vast depth of deep playa as it is located on the end-cap of camping on the 10:00 side. Friday sunset was extraordinarily magical with a light haze from suspended smoke particles in the air. Friday the city begins to glow with various burns so when twilight hour hits its not just the sky above you busting with color, it's all around you.I remember magenta & fuchsia surrounding everything. Combine with the white ground of the playa, the surroundings were other worldly.

Zaid Bawab shared the booth with me, bringing a flashdrive of unreleased tracks of his for me to play if I so desired. And you fuckin bet I did! playing a couple of his heaters worked perfectly for the set.

Hijinxx is an arena where the constraints of the constructed world often struggle to keep grips of the splendid and sometimes slippery clientele. I was fortunate to find myself playing the morning of the Sun-return-day at Kiwiburn 2023, which closely followed Soggy-Saturday. 

I took the opportunity to spin some deep and spiritual grooves, traversing an undulating aural landscape to a small but dedicated crowd, which grew as the bubbles slowly lost their pop and the espresso was rising quickly. 

Biggest of thanks to the one sensual soul that danced front and centre the entire set, feeling every hi-hat and oscillation.. one person is all it takes to make a performance worthwhile. Huge love to Becky, Arthur, Rayner and all the amazing crew for having us... and to my brother for the gift of the owl shortly after.. the wisdom is slowly but surely seeping in.

I had a lot of fun with this broadcast on BayFM 99.9, Byron Bay Radio. While the music was playing I suddenly had the impulse to do a voice over skit, all improvised in the moment. It' something I've never done before, and I really like how it turned out, bringing a comedy layer to the set.

What I find so interesting about radio broadcast is that the waveform permeates the entire landscape, the mountains have that energy hit them, the trees and the whales would feel it, too!
