Leap is back with a brand new four track Vinyl 12" project entitled Oceanview 1998 from Manuel Tschenett aka Mantsche. The vienna based producer Mantsche has been making musik since 2015. During his journey he stepped into the world of dub and got influenced by Artists like Rhythm & Sound, Basic Channel, Maurizio, Sound & Sequences and other dubwise artists. Since then he started to create deep dubbed out sounds with lots of noise, reverb and delay which symbolize a timless athomsphere. We opened with title track Deltoid, an immensive Dub Techno slice which steps with dark chords, diy spring reverb and maximum finesse. Next up comes Miosis which reflects the beauty of simple delayed saw waves and heavy bassline. Flip the wax and find Drive Dub, a fully low end off beat track with the power of reggae skanks. Last one is called Oceanview, an oldshool back to the roots dub techno track recommended for late night raves.

2008 was a turning point. I felt like I was standing on the edge of something bigger than myself, chasing a sound I could finally call my own.

My Sound was exactly that — me drawing a line in the sand and saying: this is accomplice. Built from raw textures, hypnotic grooves, and the stubborn refusal to copy anyone else, it became a declaration of independence in music form.

Looking back, this was me defining my sound — and realizing I didn’t need anyone’s permission to own it

Started by Ezra Ereckson and Tracy Harrison in 2012, ZamZam Sounds is a Portland, Oregon-based label that’s focused on the dub continuum born of Jamaican roots reggae and dub, and grown worldwide through electronic sounds such as dubstep, techno and dark garage. Growing from Ezra and Tracey’s time spent running the Bucolic Sound Investigations label in the ’90s, another experimental dub outlet that released the likes of Muslimgauze and Jah Warrior, ZamZam Sounds focuses on a dub sound that rattle bones on contemporary club dancefloors as well as more traditional dub dances. With their slavish attention to detail and dedication to the vinyl format – all releases are on 7” single, and have beautiful, screen-printed artwork, too – ZamZam Sounds is has grown into one of the finest new dub labels around. For their Choice Mix, Ezra has woven together a range of music from the label’s history, including lots of forthcoming material and exclusive dubplates. This one is shaking out your demons.

A collective out of Australia, Iron Gate Sound has been a mainstay of Sydney’s reggae-dancehall scene since 2012. The brainchild of Flip and Gilsun, Iron Gate Sound has dropped a steady stream of mixtapes and independently released music under its Iron Gate Records label over the last decade.
 
Working with dub, reggae, dancehall and grime artists from Jamaica and Europe, Iron Gate Records has always maintained a connection to roots even as it has sought to develop, reinterpret and innovate new sounds.
