I recently took the plunge w/ the new Ecler mixer. I also bought the pioneer soundcard / interface thing, so I can still do time code. The 04 / 02 mix was all vinyl and 04 / 03 was all timecode. It was an interesting comparison, even though the 04 / 03 mix is a better mix, the sound on the vinyl mix is better IMO. 

Anyway I guess I'm officially old now that I bought a rotary mixer ;_; cheaper midlife crisis than a sports car though

New Mixer

I recently made the plunge on a new setup w/ the new ecler mixer at the center. I also bought the pioneer soundcard / interface thing, so I can still do time code. 04 / 02 was all vinyl and 04 / 03 was all timecode. Even though the 04 / 03 mix is a better mix, the sound of the other mix is better IMO. I'll make a post with more details on how I set things up in case anyone cares - one thing to know is that the AD to DA conversion that goes on with the pioneer sound card is total shit, so if you are looking at the ecler you'll want to route the phono signal around that.
