Brunetto's new album is set to be released in 2014 on Irregular label. The album will be entitled "Sheroine" (invented word to reflect his particular tribute to the heroines of comics). First single to be released is "Evergreen" that features vocals by I AM DIVE ("Ghostwoods" Foehn Records, 2012). 

Born in Seville Brunetto have been since 2006 based in Barcelona mostly developing his PR and Communications career. After sporadic remixes (The Suicide of Western Culture,Bomb the Bass, Lasers, Nomadic Firs) or some original score ("Unlocker", "Baumann") he finally decided to return to the difficult task of a long play.

"Sheroine" will be a record hybridised at its core, where pop songs gradually intertwine with electronic beats, bittersweet atmospheres, IDM or finally fueled with hip hop music values.

“Kidult” proves to be an emotional and sonic tour de force equal in nature. For this track, Brunetto pushes us into synthpop/new disco territory, where we can be just as comfortable dancing amidst the smoke and the strobe lights or basking in the sounds with a glass of wine in one hand. It doesn’t hurt that the track benefits from main synth lines and vocals provided by Fede Weiss (ex- Anika Sade).

While recording and composing “Sheroine”, Brunetto took inspiration from the genres that have remained close to his heart along his years as a multifaceted artist, hence the constant presence of 90’s UK Hard Hop, break beats, ambient pop, IDM, avant-rock and the current wave of hip hop crossovers. He flows through all of these influences seamlessly, to create an album as diverse, danceable and thought-inducing that pays homage to the genres he loves, while bringing mew elements to the table.

John Vermont drops his second single “Sunday Afternoon” jamming with the hotly tipped infamous UK funky, footwork and future garage duo BSN Posse.

“Sunday Afternoon” is an exciting romance where the talented soul vocalist and songwriter joins forces with the no less gifted couple of beat-makers (keep in mind their highly acclaimed LP “Forever” released via Slime Recordings on 2015). The stars align perfectly on this track resulting of a solid sound recipe, a quirky joy with some of John’s most heart-on sleeve lyrics. 
You can’t deny the subtle hip-hop / trap influenced liquid beats of “Sunday Afternoon” underneath John’s hypnotising voice. A flotation experience that moves from the R&B territory gazing some recent classics like Deptford Goth or Chet Faker, and not so classics, Al Green or Curtis Mayfield to name a couple, into what seems to be a blissful mutation of jazz, electronic rhythms and addictive urban grooves.

This track is melodic, lyrical, and accessible. Beautiful and highly infectious, this one will be on repeat!

Irregular is very happy and proud to present the first release signed by the young and exciting trio Boreals. This Grecia EP is the best way to start what for sure will be more than a potential year for the band. 

Miquel Serra and twins Victor and Xavier Paradis are becoming specialists expressing sensations with music. Bittersweet electronic dream-pop with airy vocals that somehow fit perfectly. And attention! Because they decided to sing in Spanish. “Puertos (las nubes se abren)”  and “Desde un mirador” are undoubtedly beautiful but sad songs. 

“Luciérnagas” opens a very different field. Boundless and expressive music evolving at a rapid pace. Melodies and distortions all in one.  Gorgeous instrumental masterfully combining floating synthetic pads and ethereal arrangements. Luscious debut.

En Irregular estamos muy orgullosos y felices de presentaros el primer EP con nosotros del joven pero apasionante trío Boreals. Sin duda Grecia es una inmejorable manera de comenzar lo que será un año relevante para la banda. 

Miquel Serra y los gemelos Víctor and Xavier Paradis se están convirtiendo en unos especialistas de expresar sensaciones con música. Electrónica agridulce, dream-pop y vocales que encajan como un zapato. ¡Y atentos! Se decantan por cantar en castellano. “Puertos (las nubes se abren)” y “Desde un mirador” son sin duda canciones tristonas pero bonitas, muy bonitas. 

“Luciérnagas” abrirá un campo muy distinto. Sin límites, brutalmente expresiva y en constante ascenso. Melodías y distorsiones en el mismo saco. Un magnífico instrumental que combina pads flotantes y arreglos muy etéreos. Suculento debut.

Irregular is always enjoying discovering the diverse faces of good electronic music.  It is time for Eugenia and Ana, Las CasiCasiotone. They suggest us an intense and odd new EP.

Three cuts packed of micro-sounds where the duo from Asturias (Spain) makes good use of every single machine of their collection. On “Musculitos” the girls speculates with arpeggios, chorus and melodies. A wall of sound easy to climb but where is difficult to descend. On the other hand, naked beat-boxes and experimental electro-bit “Octopus Killers”. 

Previous to this, LCC made us thrill with the track (and title of this release) “Polar Bears Are Coming”. Again analog drops, brief chords and one bonus ingredient, a rescued speech that could serve to finish with this song in the …… Don’t panic this is about feelings, not intimidation.

Irregular es un mutante que disfruta con los diversos rostros de la buena electrónica. Os presentamos en esta ocasión a Eugenia y Ana, Las CasiCasiotone, quienes nos traen un EP intenso y distinto. 

Tres cortes de sonidos subliminales donde el dúo de asturianas deja patente el jugo que le sacan a cada una de sus máquinas de colección.  Se adivinan arpegios, coros y melodías en “Musculitos”. Tema que se mantiene en una nube de la que cuesta trabajo bajarse. Experimentan sin embargo con el sonido desnudo de las cajas de ritmo y el electro-bit en “Octopus Killer”. 

Antes de esto ya nos habían vuelto a transportar con el tema que da título al disco “Polar Bears Are Coming”. De nuevo detalles analógicos, acordes espontáneos y un ingrediente más, un discurso rescatado que podría caer en los despachos de Seguridad Nacional.  No nos asustemos, son sentimientos, no intimidación.

Las CasiCasiotone "Polar Bears Are Coming" (Irregular09) *Preview*

1er single extraído del nuevo álbum de Fernando Lagreca en Irregular. El disco será editado en el próximo mes de Julio.

Fernando Lagreca es un tipo sin adulterar, sincero, abierto… su música también. Año tras año este uruguayo de corazón que reside en una ciudad urbanita como Barcelona –desde 2002- ha sabido plasmar año tras año, disco a disco, su amor por los sonidos electrónicos llenos de naturalidad. Su nuevo trabajo “Childhood Is All We Have”, que significa su puesta de largo con el sello Irregular, no iba a ser menos, sino más. 

Compone a la vez que investiga. Su paleta es tan amplia como seductora. Se relame jugueteando con luminosidades  sintéticas y frescas de neo-pop o retro-disco.  Procura que cada canción sea un viaje de sensaciones. Este disco está atiborrado de ellas. Es un consejo de sabio que te sumerjas durante el tiempo que necesites en canciones como “Swimm Love Paradise”, “Stood by the Gate at the Foot of a Garden” o “Dream and Go”. Cuesta despertarse, estás avisado. Parece que a casiotones, sintes, amplis y guitarras como en la película “El secreto de la pirámide” (“Young Sherlock Holmes”, 1985) les crecen patitas, manos, orejas y sonrisas y se ponen a tocar encantados. Baile ocasional en cortes como “Driving Myself Alones”, synth wave adormecida en “Wonkyvideo” o IDM alquimista en “Introspective Space” son también ingredientes de este menú sin desperdicio.

A Fernando no le importaría tener a todos sus cacharritos con los ojos pestañeando, cualquiera de los instrumentos que posee y toca, son como una pandilla de pequeños amigos que van con él a cualquier parte. Defensor a ultranza de los directos donde no sean únicamente botones lo que se palpe. Sí cuerdas, micros, teclas, knobs, etc.

Finally, the respond to your prayers… A brand new release with the trio Lasers and their successful album debut “Juno” (irregularCD07) involved. Voted and nominated in Spain by the UFI for the best album of indie-electronic music. This pack includes an interesting bunch of remixes. The main track chosen to be reinvented is the 1st single extracted from that album; this is “Solar System”. 

The first round is for The Suicide Of Western Culture. Theirs is a breathless cut. Mechanical, scuzzy and beautiful as always. Melodies and voices humanizing their particular pedals and keyboards universe into a delightful song. Second is for the chemical of textures and beat-maker Brunetto. Yes! He’s back and as a gossip is spreading, is preparing his 4th album for 2013. His is a black-and-white tunnel of electro-beats, atmospheric samples and “drama” subs. Melting a floating musicality with guttural bass lines. Got it?

The remix most imbued in a sweet-natured danciness is Radiocontrol one. Resulting in a union of house-pop, dance and summer-breeze. Main melody is very organic and highly contagious, keep you footing from the very first second. 

The pack is completed by a suitable bonus track. The promising Boreals remixing the song “Awake” also included on “Juno”. Theirs, a mind-blowingly beautiful music well fed and settled in less than 3 minutes of time. Shimmering keyboards and vocals very respectful to the original version, but in a slowed tempo. 

Highly recommend territories to explore.

THE SUICIDE OF WESTERN CULTURE 
“LOVE YOUR FRIENDS, HATE POLITICIANS”

First song extracted from the highly anticipated 2nd album by the Barcelona duo The Suicide Of Western Culture and is titled "Only Hope Brings Pain ¨ (Irregular, 2013). Such LP will be finally released in March, 14, 2013.

The music video -shot in Barcelona and New York- has been directed and produced by Actop, the Barcelona creative cell formed by post-production wizard Alvaro P. Posadas and director César Pesquera. They also designed the cover for the album, assuming all the creative direction in the launch of the TSOWC second album.

The Suicide Of Western Culture  "Love Your Friends, Hate Politicians"

The band Lasers is ready for the second round. The Barcelona trio resurfaces with the first single extracted from the upcoming album "Exchange Levels" (IrregularCD10). This floating new song is titled "Bird Feeder". 

Hyper-emotional, housy, dreamy, bearable, fragile and gloriously vivid.

There are two ways of doing things in life. The first is to do things because you have to, because some ugly guy with a beard and a bat is forcing you to do so. The second is to do things because they give you pure unadulterated pleasure and enjoyment. The latter is the route chosen by LASERS in creating their upcoming second album entitled “Exchange Levels” (IrregularCD10).

Charly, Alex and Ivan have been hard at work during the last few months hidden away in their brand-new studio attempting to create an album that can rival their acclaimed debut “Juno” (Irregular 2011) or compete with the magic achieved by their EP (that goes by the same name) We can safely say that with this second album the guys have truly delivered, EXCHANGE LEVELS brings you 8 unmissable tracks. Their sound has mutated and evolved like a musical monster arisen from the ground into something huge, urban and cosmopolitan. 

If you allow your ears to wander from beat to beat, you will be taken on a musical journey from the instrumental cosmic disco that is “As You Want”, to the suggestive voice of Merche Blasco (although you may know her more as Burbuja) in “Weightless”. Freshness, simplicity, and openness are the core key themes resounding in the LASERS latest groove. 

Let’s move on to talk about the epic tracks such as “…Roof Down”, “Come Over” or “Levels”. A triple whammy of underground house carefully devised by the guys. Three fantasies that would appear to have been born out of the best house of Chicago and New York. These tracks create a beautiful ambience between synthetic sound and pure instrument.  If artists like Mr. Fingers, Frankie Knuckles or Blaze paid attention they would likely give homage to the trio and possibly even buy them dinner! Brilliant beats to get you dancing combined with soulful vocal samples and rhythmic drums all delicately blended together. No riddles, just music. 

Uplifting tracks like “Alex Eardrum” provide the listener with tranquillity and escape. LASERS expertly synthesise arpeggio, piano chords and vocals to create a unique musical chemistry. However, the key to this album (which will most likely be the first single) is undoubtedly “Bird Feeder”. A stylish musical hybrid where if you concnetrate you can detect the light influences of artists such as Baltimora, Junior Boys, Youth Lagoon and Memory Tapes.
