Description: Just messing around with the Axe FX II stock presets and getting some really cool and atmospheric sounds. This is probably gonna be the intro to a spooky, black metal influenced track I'm working on!

I'm hugely in love with the sound of this bass and pedal as a combination - so much clarity, aggression and power. I recorded the main riff from "Icarus Lives!" and overlaid it over the album track to demonstrate.

I don't know why I made this, but I did, and I was laughing maniacally the entire time, tracking the vocals was especially tricky. Ended up using it for an April Fools joke song today with Red Seas Fire.

The end section (I say the end, it makes up most of the track) is a very slowly building chant where I sung a nursery rhyme and reversed it, it was meant to be a section that freaked people out if they had forgotten that a song had been playing and this boomy atmospheric chant filled the room.

Everything on this is me, the guitars, the programming, the vocals, the poorly pronounced Italian, everything.

It's been a while since I last used S2.0's default Avatar kit for the bulk of a drum mix, so I thought I'd revisit it and see what I can do with it now. Everything you're hearing is Avatar, except for some kick augmentation courtesy of LSD drums - (http://lsddrums.bigcartel.com/)

Here's a clip of the new firmware 10 for Axe-FX II, it starts out vaguely serious then gets silly. I think the new firmware sounds great though!
I used my ViK Duality 7 for guitars, Dingwall Afterburner for bass. Drums are Toontrack Metal Machine with NO processing, literally just loaded up the default kit and left it as is.

Accidentally (Axe II FW 10 test)

Small, quick, rough clip of how the drum samples are shaping up. Just some small EQ and subtle compression and a limiter on the master just to bring the level up.
